Arrival Story:
I was volunteering at my local Animal Control and was caring for the dogs in holding. Christine had been there quite a while. It was said she could not be put up for adoption because she wasn't outgoing. She spent her days curled into a ball in the back corner of the kennel. She had to be carried outside because she was so fearful she wouldn't walk. On the day they were going to put her down as a lost cause, I decided to take her. I carried her to the car wrapped in my coat, then into the house, and set her beside the couch and just left her be. After a couple days she began to walk around and explore. After a couple weeks, she became the best most loyal dog you had ever seen. She was amazingly smart and well behaved in public and at home. I was so happy I didn't let them put this wonderful dog to sleep just because she was scared.
