Arrival Story:
Freddie formerly known as Jugger ( for Juggernaut) belonged to a family member. They have been unable to care for him properly, so my husband and I decided to adopt him. We wanted Freddie to have a family of his own who love him and care for him and spend time with him instead of always being in a cage by himself. Freddie has adjusted very well with the pack. In fact, he loves that he has plenty of brothers and sisters around him.

About one week after we brought Freddie home, we noticed he started limping and picking up his hind leg. The vet said he has a luxating patella or dislocated kneecap. He was given pain meds. We have opted out surgery for him since he is 12 years old and we do not want to put him through that. He uses the leg but would sometimes pick it up when he's walking. We felt like we failed for some reason, now that we finally could give him a good home and give him as much freedom as he wants and this had to happen. On the other hand, we know that he will always be cared for and loved for the rest of his life and we will do what's best for him. The leg has not changed him in any way.
