Arrival Story:
Went to the Humane Society just to look at the dogs, instead of going to a local dog show. My best friend nudged me, I had wanted to get a dog for 7 years. I saw Cody and he saw me and he just started wagging his tail. They let me and my friend into his little room and he immediatley went and sat on my lap. I knew we were going to bond fast, and we did.
Bio:
Cody had some issues when I brought him home. He had separation anxiety, fear of sewers, and I went through 6 pairs of leather shoes. I knew these problems would go away once he trusted that I would always come home. Routine, patience and calm verbal discipline. Doggy treats also helped in positive reinforcement. He is food motivated. Does not respond well to "alpha" dog technique. He becomes stubborn with this tactic.
