Her sister Allie

Favorite Toy:
Well so far it is a frog her big sister Allie never played with. The frog instead of squeaking croaks old McDonald. Sophie pulled it out of the toybox and hasn't let it out her sight yet playing with every chance she gets.

Favorite Food:
Bananas, and anything Allie likes

Arrival Story:
My current companion also a rott/shep mix has given me 11.5 wonderful years with hopefully several more to come. As she has gotten older I've been looking to open our home to another large dog who would fit into our life. I am partial to German Shepherds and Rottweilers and especially like the mix between the two. Well on I read about Sophie unfortunately her family was one of many hit in these economic times and they lost there home. Many apartments have breed restrictions so many have had to give up the canine members of their family. Something about her made me want to me her to see how she and Allie would get along. While it wasn't instant love more indifference at least on Allie's part, Sophie's personality had me saying yes. She did great in the car coming home. Met my mom and made an instant friend. Her last frontier is her new big sister Allie. That one may take some time but it will work out in the end

Mom and I are going to be busy

Well since my sister's been gone I've been lonely, so Mommy has signed us up for stuff.

Next week is really busy I am going to a new doggie daycare once a week, well first I have to accepted so Monday is a big day. Then Wednesday I have a spa day, and Saturday Mommy and I are doing the Butler BullDog Jog Dog walk. Then that same day I get a picture taken with the Easter Bunny at Nutty Mutt, and I already have my ears (see my picture). The on the 31st we have Three Dog Bakeries Easter Begg Hunt, ok I am a little nervous. Allie always found the eggs with treats and then we shared, so this year I have to find them on my own. Mom says I'll do great though and she'll help.

Our next official event is Mutt Strutt at the Indy 500 track on 4/28/12. Allie always did the walk to raise money for the Indianapolis Humane Society. This year I am walking in honor of my sister since she can't. It will be a little sad this year cause our birthdays were just a day apart I will be 6 and my sister would have been 14. Mommy already ordered my cake though so we will still have a good celebration.

Well I have to go

The last couple of days I tried to get my big sister Allie to play with me but she didn't get up. Then yesterday morning they carried her out to the car and I tried several times to go with them but mommy wouldn't let me. When they came home my Allie wasn't with them I looked and looked but couldn't find her. Everytime I heard the door to garage open I thought maybe she was there, but she didn't come back.

The family got rid of Allie's bed, but I won't let them take her bowls. I stepped over them cause she'll need them so I'm not going to let anyone take them. Mommy just shakes her head, cries and tells me it's okay. She hasn't taken the bowls yet, though.

It is so strange without my Allie. Mommy always fed her first and I would wait, so now I kind of hesitate before I start eating, looking at Mommy to make sure it's okay. Mommy didn't put anything in Allie's bowl, so I put a few pieces of my food in there, Mommy saw me and just cried. See I used to eat all my food really fast and give Allie my best please may I look and she would drop some of her food on the floor for me. Mommy used to get on her, telling her to stop feeding her sister. I guess now maybe I owe her.

I woke up this morning and went to where Allie's be was, it used to be right next to mine. I smelled around but only smelled cleaner, Allie had some accidents and Mommy cleaned the floor. I still walk around where her bed was, Allie was very particular about me not stepping on her bed and even though it's not there now I can't seem to step through where it was.

Mommy and I are due for some snuggle time, hopefully I can figure out what is going on

My turn now

So now it's my turn to talk. Well let's see my sister mentioned Mommy went to California and Grammy staying with us.

I love my Grammy, and Liz and Kelly and Chris and Julia and Nick, Okay I love everybody.

We have lots of visitors so I get lots of petting, hugs and kisses.

I have to admit though I do not like hiking like Allie does. Want to know my prefernce kisses and hugs, not sniffing the ground and walking, but as long as I am with my people its okay.

Mommy makes us doggie muffins too, there are healhy but oh so yummy. Allie and I watch the oven and just wait for them to get done, but we have to wait until they cool to have one that kind of stinks but mommy says she doesn't want our mouths to burn.

Hmm, oh yeah I have started something new corraling my sister to the door when it's dinner time. I mean geez Allie it's time to eat, but all she wants to do is inspect every part of the yard. Somtimes I go out to see what is so interesting but I gotta tell ya I just don't get it especially when it delays dinner. Not only do I have to do it once but sometimes twice cause she starts to go back to do it again. Something about her needing to finish a grid pattern whatever that is, Mommy just laughs. Mommy says Allie definately has more Shepherd in her, but that she loves us both.

Allie knows commands in three languages and hand signals too. She used to do searches and obstacle courses, but with her age she doesn't anymore. I have started getting some of the handle signals and a few words in Irish. Mommy says everyone is different and it's a work in progress than gives me a big hug and kiss with every new thing I learn.

Oh and before I forget Allie did get in trouble she let me out of my house last weekend. Allie got time out cause we kind of got into stuff we weren't supposed to Mommy was sure mad.

Well I guess it's time to go until next time.
