Arrival Story:
I've had Charlie since he was 9 weeks old. I got him 2 weeks after my last dog died because I was told he was part Pekapoo and black. That's what my last dog was. Charlie is now 14 1/2 yrs. old. He's been my constant companion. Smartest dog I've ever had, bar none.

Bio:
The personality I've listed now isn't what he was like most of his life. He is very intelligent & until the discs in his back disintegrated he was very energetic. When he ran he looked like a deer running & he loved to walk on his back legs. Now its his back legs that have given out. 2 yrs ago he couldn't walk very well at all. He dragged his back legs behind him, but he's stubborn and refused to change his route around the yard--so now he can walk again, but he puts most of his weight on his front legs. He can still run along the fence when he sees people though. He is now on pain meds which have helped. The other dogs and cats in the house have kept him young because he likes to keep up with them when he can. Unfortunately, he rarely plays with his toys anymore...something he loved to do. He played chase and tug o war. He's still the best dog I've ever had.
