Arrival Story:
My sister and I went to a local pet supply store and grooming place to buy some special treats for her dog. There was a sign on the grooming door that there were Golden Retriever pups for sale that would be ready at the end of February (It was the end of January at the time). Well she saw it and pointed it out to me because she knew that I always wanted a Golden Retriever. My husband and I had just bought our house the year before and so I thought it was a pretty good time to get a dog. So I wrote down the number and went home to talk to him about it. He wasn't very keen on the idea at first, but I pouted and he caved. So I called the breeder and made an appointment to go out and see the pups. I knew that I wanted a female so I only had 2 to pick from. (She comes from a large family. There were 11 of them.) When I went there the man was playing with a tennis ball and the parent dogs out front. They were so beautiful! I knew I had come to the right place. Mom and dad greeted us with kisses and hugs. It was the best! So I went in and he had pulled the two females that were left away from the rest of the litter. The one little girl was dark and was jumping at me from the pen. The other one was light and sleeping. She kinda just looked up at us and laid her head back down to sleep. I didn't know which one to pick. They were both adorable! Well I picked up both of them. The jumpy one was climbing all over me, licking me, nipping me. She was sooooo cute! Then I picked up the sleepy one and fell in love instantly! She very lightly grabbed the hood string on my jacket and just held it in her mouth, laid her head on my shoulder and snuggled into my neck. That's all it took for me! From that day on she has been my Lita. The next 4 weeks were the longest of my life! She's as velcro as a dog can be and I absolutely love it! I am so glad I went to the Paw Print with my sister that day!
