Arrival Story:
I resuced Bear from a road ditch about 16 years ago. She was just a ball of fluff when we found her.

Bio:
She has been the best guard dog I have ever had and that is saying something. (Her brother is a Rottie). She has never ever bitten anyone but she has strangers or anyone not well know to her VERY convinced that she will eat them up. She is very sweet and loving to her family and mama's friends. Her favorite thing in the whole world is for mama to give her a belly rub. Unfortunately Bear died on November 15, 2005. I recently found out about the Diamond dog food recall. I have been feeding this to her and Frankie for over a year. The bag I was feeding her from when she died was one listed for recall. I can't really express how upsetting it is to know that I lost this pet who has been a member of my family for almost 18 years and it was at my hand. I thought that I was feeding her a good dog food because the number one ingredient was chicken protein instead of corn protein. Now I find out that I was poisoning her. I try and console myself with the fact that she was a rescue dog and that she had a long and happy life because my son and I adopted her but I still always have it in the back of my mind that she would have been here longer if I had only known.
