Lady's Laments

Why do Tricks...

Lady is street smart. She acts dumb, but according to the doggy trainer that helped to socialize both girls, Lady just picks and chooses what she will do. Luya will learn any trick to get a treat. Lady knows that she will get a treat anytime that Luya does, so no matter what the command, "Luya over".. Lady lies down. "Luya Kiss" Lady lies down.
"Luya Pray" .. Lady lies down. On and On. I know Lady is thinking what a dummy Luya is to do all that work when all she has to do is lie down and get the same treat. If the dogs are in the basement and I open a bag of Gardetto's two flights up.....they can hear it and come running. Lady automatically lies down to wait for Luya to perform so that she can have a pretzel.

Lets Eat the Trees

Lady and Luya both graze like cattle. I do not know why as they eat Science Diet Lamb and Rice and get doggie treats. As you can see, neither dog is 'thin'. As puppy like to chew, we were fortunate that they did most of their chewing outside. They ate the deck... Then they started on the trees. I happened to be in the kitchen one day and caught them in the act. Luya seemed to prefer the lower branches with leaves. Lady liked the bark. By the time I got the camera, Luya had moved on to grazing, but I captured Lady enjoying an afternoon snack. We had to put wiring around the trees. They have since given up eating the deck and the trees, but still graze and are excited beyond belief when the first green blades of grass sprout up in the spring.
