Arrival Story: Maggie was a stray, so I really have no idea of her age or birthdate. Both the vet and the friend I got her from said she was about 7 when we got her. However, it has been my experience that every stray I have ever adopted was said to be "about 7." Also, they both said she had been spayed - and she wasn't! She was also heartworm positive when we got her, so we had to pay for that treatment, too. But now she seems to be doing fine and has a beautiful voice that she uses too much!

Bio: Maggie was euthanized on December 27, 2010. She became very ill at 10 PM Christmas Day and we took her to an emergency veterinary clinic. After many tests, it was determined that she had a hemorrhaging liver tumor. Although surgery could potentially cure her, considering her age (approximate because we didn't know her actual birth date) and the fact that the tumor had a 50% chance of being malignant and if malignant, could be metastatic, we opted to euthanize her rather than putting her through a useless surgery.
