Likes:
Being adorable & spoiled, meeting new people (esp. celebs!) & dogs, being on TV & in the paper, going to the park, traveling, shopping, destroying stuffed squeaky toys, sleeping in bed, humping, tangling w/ rats & chasing squirrels

Pet-Peeves:
horse drawn carriages, strangers coming to the door, getting groomed, going to the vet, people who call her a mutt, icy & salty sidewalks, those who don't think dogs can enjoy the finer things in life.

Favorite Toy:
currently the the stuffed squeaky squirrel, all-time hall of fame award goes to the rubber shoe that she has had since she was 6 wks old

Favorite Food:
I love it when mommy brings me home leftover filet, but eat Nutro brand most of the time. I am not an over-eater, I like to watch my girlish figure, too many JRTs get portly.

Favorite Walk:
She misses NYC: from Central Park South to the Upper West Side. Now she enjoys exploring Eastport and taking dips in the Severn River.

Best Tricks:
jumping high in the air!

Arrival Story:
I met Daisy when she was 10 days old and living with her mother and 4 brothers & sisters, they were all very cute and so tiny! I picked her up at the vet's a couple weeks later when she was 6 weeks old and she has been with me in my adventures ever since, my faithful companion and trusty sidekick. We moved from Baltimore City to NYC the summer of 2001 & over the last 5+ years have enjoyed exploring various parks and neighborhoods in NYC and meeting hundreds of dogs and dog-lovers. We just moved from NYC to Annapolis and while she misses the City she is happy to be back in her home state and loves her fenced in yard and that she can sit and look out the window of our house. There are lots of dogs here in Eastport and she has enjoyed meeting many of them.

Bio:
As she matures Daisy has learned to enjoy wearing clothes, especially after living in fashion conscious Manhattan. She likes brands such as Old Navy and Gap for casual wear and relies on her quilted monogrammed coat to keep her warm on cold days. She doesn't care for logo's or Burberry. Another advantage to living in the big city is the exposure that she gets from local celebrities. She has met Sarah Jessica Parker, who proclaimed her "So cute!" She has sniffed the butt of Howard Sterns' bulldog, and met George Whipple, who she really liked. Daisy definitely has aspirations for great things. Daisy loves to travel and has been in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and visited 9 states. She loves riding in cars and doesn't mind flying. She likes swimming, but won't go in the water alone. After a summer at the Jersey shore, she transitioned to the East End of Long Island for summer 2004 and continues to spend plenty of summer weekends there. She is planning to visit Maine (a new state!) for 4th of July 2007. A dog for all seasons, Daisy also enjoys visiting New England to see the fall colors, as well as playing in the snow, especially in Vermont. Aside from travel Daisy's interests include sports, particularly Maryland basketball and football and dancing. Recently Daisy welcomed Dixon into her life. He is a 6 month old Jack Russell-Shih Tzu mix, just like her. She is happy to share her home with another dog of such refined breeding. At first she wasn't sure about sharing her turf, but when mommy and daddy explained the Dixon needed a home and had been living in a shelter in NJ she opened her heart and home to him, anything to get a fellow pup out of NJ- where he was living in a shelter that was really just a trailer- the horror! She is very good at sharing her water bowl and various toys with him as she knows she will always be the top dog. Spring of '07 brought big changes to Daisy's world. She moved from NYC back to the state of her birth, Maryland. She relocated to Annapolis and is adjusting to life in a house with a fenced in yard and car rides to the dog park.

My brush with Whipple's world!

May 27th 2005 9:02 am   [link to this entry]

Last night Mommy got home well before dark and instead of taking me to the gym (what's this gym place? she always talks about going there but never does) she took me to the park. I saw some of my buddies going home for the night and chased after some pigeons.
After a nice walk down to the ice-skating ring, under a bridge, past the playground and the ballfields, we took a new turn and walked over a wooden bridge- it was a nice change and I enjoyed it, especially since it's finally stopped raining.
On our way out of the Park, we stopped at the light at 59th Street to head home, and George Whipple stopped to pet me, he was very nice and I think his eyebrows may be larger than mine. He told me how cute I was and then told me how he had a Jack Russell, named Jackie, who just passed away at the age of 15. I felt so bad for him, he said she was very good with horses and that he used to take her riding with him and she would run through the jumps. Also he said he rescued her, which is always such a wonderful thing to do. He was very nice to me and mommy.
I do hope that another Jack Russell or JRT mix puppy, soon finds it's way into Whipple's World, for it would be a very lucky and loved pup to do so.
