My nick name for lily since I trimmed off the feathers from her backside. We have pine trees and with the warmer spring weather came the pine sap. It kept matting up her feathers so I cu them off. She now reminds me of a sheep when seen from the back.lol.
She has been doing alot of rolling around on the ground while just talking away to herself. " it's spring and I'm so very happy" :)

crocus flowers are blooming in the garden. honeybees and even a bumble bee were being busy fliting from flower to flower. There are still a few lingering piles of snow in the deep shaded areas. we will get a few more days of cold but this brief peek of spring warmth was much needed by everyone.
Lily has spent most of the day sleeping outside in a patch of sunlight. we get alot of wind in our area so that also plays a part in how much Lily stays outside. YOU know it's COLD when even Lily only goes out long enough to potty then runs back in.
we cut her fur shorter ( not shaved, just cut back the feathers and thin her coat some ) in late spring so she will be much more comfy in the heat of summer. this year we will take her to the groomers because her fur is so thick and long this winter esp. I will post pics when we get her back from the groomers. :)

here at home we received 22 inches of snow in a 24 hour period. a heavy wet snow
so it seemed like more. last potty call before bed, snow up to lily's knees.
next morning lily bounced off the porch as happy as a kid.
landing on the ground she nor us was expecting the snow to be up to her belly.
Too bad there isn'et myspace for dogs. perhaps I would have been able to find a vidio posted by dogs who live where deep snow is normal which would have shown my dog how to pee with snow up to the belly. lol
but instead, lily spent several moments trying to find a not so deep place to go in. no such luck. after answering natures call standing up lily was most happy to play in the snow.
she chased the snow thrown from my hubbys shovel. she used her nose as a snow plow. when she came in she was so happy she wanted to share the fun with our cats.
big ole body shakes from her before we could cover her with a towel covered the cats with drops of icy water an bits of snow. she checked over thier bodys with her very wet, cold, nose. the only thing the cats gave to lily were dirty looks as they ran for the tops of anything that would be out of her reach. lol
