Birthday: January 1st 2002 Likes: Attention and LOTS of it! Pet-Peeves: Puppies that steal his cow hoof Favorite Toy: A plastic football and tennis balls or squeaky plus toys Favorite Food: Any food Favorite Walk: He can't walk long distances yet because of his ligament injury Best Tricks: Staring at you lovingly for a treat Arrival Story: Howie was an owner turn in to the North West Pa. Humane society. A cocker rescue that I foster for asked me to pull him. Since he was a "senior" (Don't tell him that) with a cruciate ligament injury to his rear leg NWPA was never even going to offer him for adoption and rescues were contacted. Howie was 1 day away from dead but we saved him... YAY!!! Bio: Howie is a wonderful dog. When we brought him to the vet for his ligament exam they also found he has a grade 2-3 heart murmur. Only the valve is involved at this time and there is no congestion. We have estimates for his surgery to repair he ligament but heart tests have to be performed first. He has a wonderful happy personality and just wants to be a part of a family. Even with his ligament injury Howie runs and plays with the other dogs and with toys, pushed thru the pack to be the first one loved and really just wants to be the center of some one's world. He is chocolate in color and has a wonderfully plush coat when it's all in. He doesn't mind grooming at all and enjoys kids of all ages as long as they mind his physical limitations.
