Arrival Story:
Shamook was my first Sibe. I had always wanted a Siberian and I had just lost my male yellow lab, so I went to our local animal shelter and prayed there would be a Siberian there that needed adopting. I looked and looked and finally saw a small young scared gray husky in the back corner of a pen on the last row. He had just come in the day before. He had a leather collar on and had obviously been someones dog. I asked to see him and as soon as he was brought to me he became a different dog. He started licking my face and giving me kisses like he was saying "thank you for letting me out". I had to wait seven days before I could adopt him, so I went to see him everyday at lunch to let him know I was there waiting on him. That seventh day I left work early and took Shamook home from the shelter and he has been with me ever since. He is the sweetest husky and loves to play with everyone he meets. He esp loves kittens and playing with them. I dont think he realizes he is lots bigger than them, but he will follow them around and let them play all over him. He loves chasing Rya around the backyard and in the snow ( when we have some). Shamook loves hanging out the window while riding in the car ( he draws a lot of attention).
