Arrival Story:
Bobo and I found each other at PAWS Chicago, a no-kill shelter in Chicago. I initially went to PAWS with the intention of adopting his roommate, an American Eskimo female. She decided to try to eat my hand, so I turned to Bobo (shelter name "Collichio"), and said to him, "maybe you and I should visit for awhile" as he sat far back in the corner of his glass-walled room. The rest is history.

Bio:
All I know about Bobo is that PAWS snatched him from the jaws of death at Chicago Animal Control. He was so badly matted that PAWS cut him down to the bare minimum of fur. He has been growing in for 9 months now, and looking gorgeous. So loving, affectionate, and energetic, I don't know what I would do without him!

PAWS put on such a great party yesterday

The humans called it "Run For Their Lives", but I called it a doggie party. My mom took me there. She said it was at a place called Grant Park, it was so big! But I got to see so many new dogs, even one that was at least 5 times as tall as I am (mom insert: Great Dane). But I wasn't scared, I just said hello and sniffed his knee as a greeting. When that dog jumped up high at his person's command, wow!!!!! Then I got a free massage by a guy named Chris who was very nice to me. Then I got lots of my fav treats while taking a try at an agility course (all the trainers said I did so well), got a free tee shirt that says "Bacon" on the back (love the bacon, the shirt I can do without), but before all these good things, we had to walk. The walk was a long one (mom said 4 kilometers), but we did it! And we raised some money to help the shelter where mom found me last December, which was the whole point. Can do we this again next year? I hope so!

What an excellent day! The weather was a nice, early fall day. And here's the good part - my mom took me out for TWO long walks, once in the early morning which is typical, and then one after dinner! She said something about excess energy. And later tonight she tried to make me wear a Chicago Cubs cap. We are walking to raise money for the shelter where mom met me, on Sunday, and early Halloween costumes are encouraged. But I don't have a thing to wear. Might have to forget the costume thing. But we'll have fun anyway; there will be a dog communicator, a dog massager, lots of treats to eat, and hundreds of other dogs and their people to meet.

Mats! Worse than a cat's furballs!

My person Mom used to be a cat owner. I liked to chase the cats and bark at them alot, but Mom didn't like it. She put up a gate to her bedroom where the cats could hide from me. But the cats are gone now, and we live in a different house for the past few months. We have our own special whole FLOOR to ourselves, which is awesome. But with all this pampered living and lying on the carpet, I have developed a heck of a lot of mats on my legs. Mom finally figured out that she has to put lots of fur conditioner on me when I get a bath, and that helps. We went to a charity dog wash a couple weeks ago, and they didn't have any conditioner for me. So guess what? TONS of new mats popped up. It was awful. Mom tried everything to get them out, special brushes, etc. Finally she realized that the only solution is to cut them out carefully with scissors. I understand, and wait patiently for her to get a couple out every day. Today was no exception. There was a really big one on my back leg, but now it's gone! Feels so much better.
