Likes: belly rubs, car rides, going to Grandma and Grandpa's house, playing with Alexis, pulling Mom on her rollerblades Pet-Peeves: when the peanut butter gets stuck way down in the Kong, not being able to go outside, getting my nails clipped or people messing with my feet in general Favorite Toy: Fat Cat, a stuffed animal with a rattle inside that I roll down the stairs on purpose so I can chase it Favorite Food: home-made treats from Auntie Jill Favorite Walk: through the woods at Grandma and Grandpa's, where I can chase critters of all varieties Best Tricks: Mom says my best trick is how I somehow got her to allow me to go up on the loveseat even though she SWORE she would never allow a pet on the furniture! Arrival Story: I went to a local humane society to look at dogs, wanting to find one to adopt since I had recently purchased a new house. The day I went, I met five or six different dogs. A volunteer brought each dog into a room where I was waiting with some other people. I played a little with each dog, and asked to see some again. On his second visit to the room, a dog called Snow came right up to me and nuzzled in my lap. He remebered me from his first visit to the room. I took him home the next week and re-named him Chance. Bio: Chance had been found as a stray. He has scars from his previous life on his feet and back. If he could talk, I'm sure he'd tell me how he got them. Now, he has a soft life. He gets lots of belly rubs, his own loveseat, a walk almost every day, lots of doggy treats, and all the love he could ever want. Forums Motto: Rub my Bell-ay! Woof, I've been a slacker with my diary ... perhaps it is because I've been so busy adjusting to life with my new brother, Dusty. He is a big lug, but I love him. I just let him think he is the "boss" around here and everything is just fine! Sometimes he eats my crumbs, but that's OK. My mommy feels sorry for me so I usually get a whole 'nother treat. (Just don't tell her I leave my crumbs for Dusty to get on purpose, please!)
It's been a while -- I've been having so much fun I haven't had time to write in my diary!
This Christmas, Mommy's boyfriend came over and brought Dusty with him. They stayed for a whole week! Dusty and I had so much fun -- I am teaching him how to wrestle. Not sure this is the best idea since he's 90 pounds and all muscle ... but I LOVE having him around to play with all the time.
Here's the best news -- Mommy said she and her boyfriend are getting married, so soon Dusty will get to be my brother! YAY and Woof!
Well friends, I was right. I did get to go to the cabin in Wisconsin with Dusty last weekend. The weather was beautiful, so of course Dusty went swimming.
At night, Mom and her boyfriend stayed up late and made campfires. They sat around the fire talking to everyone. Dusty and I sat up by the cabin and "talked" to each other too. Then, Mom came up to get us. She walked me around to the front of the cabin for potty. Oh wow! It was so dark and Mom could hardly see where she was going.
I told her, "Just look up to the sky, Mom. There are so many stars out at night far away from everything. When I was lost before you got me, I used to look up at those sparkly stars to find my way, too."
Well, must must've heard me, 'cause she stopped and looked up. She just stood there for a while and then gave me a pat on the head. Then, she walked me all the way down the driveway and back.
I love my Mom, and the stars. Oh yeah, and Dusty, too!
