Arrival Story:
I went to the local Humane Society to become a volunteer. While touring the facility, I saw Milton and his brother. Milton was a bit more subdued than his brother at first, so I was originally more drawn to his brother. When I took him out to play, though, Milton's true colors showed as he began to race around in circles at high speed. After he had finished the romping, he came over and began nosing at my hand. Every time I would show another dog any attention, the nosing efforts would double, he would win me over, and I would turn my attention back to him. I (thankfully!) realized how special he was, and I chose him over the other dogs. Later, I was told that he had been scheduled to be euthanized the next day if I hadn't adopted him. So, it broke my heart that I couldn't take Milton's brother home too, but I lived in a small apartment at the time. Hopefully, someone took pity....

Bio:
Milton is the sweetest, most loving, most entertaining dog I've ever known. He is my very loyal best friend, and I don't know what I would do without him. As for his history, the details are somewhat sketchy. I believe that he was probably abused or at least yelled at by some cold hearted monster. He is scared of most new people, but especially of men. I know that when I found him, he was already on his third pound visit (and he was only 4-6 months old!). Apparently, he and his brother were the neighborhood trash mongers, and their owners were too careless to train them or keep them from running loose. Poor little guy--all he knew was that the trash smelled like food. Anyway, I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have found him, and he lets me know it everyday!
