Running, tug-o-war, car rides, and annoying the heck out of Tigger
not enough exercise, Mom's refusal to play with me when she's on the phone, Emily (my skin sis) not being a puppy
rope toy with hard plastic ring, anything else I can fit in my mouth
everything! "Will work for food!"
the Towers, the flat place, any place he can be without a leash
"watch me", paw, crawl, sit, down, stay, jump up, and spin...oh yeah, and chasing my stub. I haven't caught it yet, but someday I will. Someday.
I adopted Tye through a wonderful Boxer rescue organization in New England called Second Chance Boxer Rescue (www.secondchanceboxer.com). I was finally in a position to have a dog again after 9 long years. The boyfriend and I were deciding on what breed would be best for us. We 'agreed' on a dog that would be no more then 50lbs...a medium sized dog. However, I fell in love with the Boxers. After submitting my application, and awaiting approval, Tye (fka Tye Dye) appeared as an 'available dog'. He was the mushiest faced 4 month old bundle of love and cuteness that I'd ever laid eyes on. Right after, I got approved, and we drove two hours to Northern, Maine to pick him up. He stole my heart, and hasn't let go since. And as Foghorn Leghorn would probably put it, "I say, don't..I say don't buy from Petstores, or backyard breeders. I say choose, I say choose adoption first" Thank you. *grin*
Tye is the graduate of first and second grade obedience, and second grade again (hey..there's nothing wrong with taking a refresher course), and beginner agility. He still tends to do things when he wants to. He's the most beautiful, soft, adorable boy in the world. He does like to wiggle, and kidney bean. He can get that stub going like nobody's business. He also loves to 'woo woo' and he's quite fresh (although his manners are improving by the day). I'm a sucker for his great face, and 78lbs of solid, squishy muscle. I can not forget to mention that Tye is the "little" brother to our kitty, Tigger, and the big brother to kitty Milo, and his border collie brother from another mother, Keeper. Tye has a theme song and it's very appropriate. It's "Chu Chi Face" from the movie, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". You can find the lyrics (much to his chagrin) in his diary archives.

Mom has checked in at Dogster periodically, but she hasn't typed my diary entries for a long time. Slacker!
A lot has changed since the last time I wrote. I have a new brother. Well, I've known him since he was a real little guy -- just eight weeks old, but he didn't live with us until a couple of weeks ago, and now he's almost 3! His name is Keeper, and he's a Border Collie. He's a really good brother. It's good that we've been friends forever, because it made his transition very easy. Plus. he's so good for Mom, he's making me use my manners more. I can't have him showing off all the time and highlighting my naughty skills.
Mom keeps saying we're moving. I don't know what that means, but she makes it sound fun. I know I've lived in this place since I was 4 months old. That was when Mom adopted me from rescue. I think Keeper might know a little more about this moving thing, since he's done it a couple times. Anyway, Mom keeps gushing about how we're finally going to have a fenced in yard, and how much fun that will be! If it means that I get to run around off leash like Keeper, I'm game! That will be fun! Mom says the new neighbor has 2 dogs, too..but one of them is really tiny. She says I have to be super nice, and not act like a cranky pants or else they won't be my friends.
My kitty brother Tigger gets along well with Keeper, but Milo hasn't warmed up to him yet. I don't mind though, cause that just means I'm still Milo's favorite. He loves me best of all! The only problem is, Milo won't come and rub up against me anymore, because Keeps always around. He will still sleep at the foot of Mom's bed, though. None of us can resist the big bed! It's getting VERY crowded.
My last big of news is not great. My back legs is bugging me. Mom bends it, and touches it, and has checked every toe on that foot..I don't yelp or do anything, so she doesn't know what the problem is. I just keep lifting it off the ground when I walk...but I do still run around on it. Mom noticed it the other day, so she's keeping a close eye on it..and may have to bring me to the vet. I don't mind because I'm actually one of those nutjobs who likes the vet. Even after having my big surgery that time. Mom says it's time for me to go to the vet for my regular check up anyway...so hopefully they can tell her what's going on with my leg.
Well, I guess that's all for now. If you happen to read this diary, be sure to send Keeper and I (and the kitties too, if you can) a friend request. Poor Keep has no friends on his list yet! I have lots cause I've been here for awhile, but I always like to have more!

I guess I graduated from P-U the other night. I met my first skunk, and evidently, he or she did not care for me. I barked at the skunk for 45 minutes straight before they got sick of hearing my voice. That's when the stink came. Yep, I got sprayed. Fortunately, because I'm actually a big baby, I was a safe enough distance away to not get hit too badly. But wowie! Those skunks stink bad!
I had a few baths with tomato juice, and other de-skunking remedies. I was a good boy, and stood still for them (like I always do), but I won't lie and say I liked them. I'm just not a water dog, okay?
The other downside to getting skunked was that Mommy would not let me sleep in her bed until the smell was gone :-(

It's me, Tye. Ah, life has been a bit boring around ye old homestead. Mom's friend came and took me for a big walk the other day through the hills near the ski slopes. I love that walk. It tires me right out. Another bit of 'exciting' news is that I chewed up Emily's brand new baseball glove. I was thrilled when I stole it out of her room in the middle of the night. She was not so thrilled when she found it this morning.
We have kittens at our house. Two to be exact. Their names are Milo and Bootsie. Auntie's neighbor was giving them away too early, so Mom took them to give them a chance. She's still on the fence about whether or not she wants to keep them. They are cute, and Mom says I act like their Daddy. I lick them, and try to keep them in line. Tigger has grown to love them too. It's odd, because Tigger does not usually have a problem with any animal that comes into the house, and he always loves other cats. He's easy going like that, but he hissed at the kittens. But now he cuddles with them.
So, now I'm going to chill on my blanket. I'll chat with y'all later!
