Favorite Walk: The park
Arrival Story: She was rescued from 5 or 6 weeks of running the neighborhood wearing a worn blue collar with no tag. She would bark at dogs & chase or play with cats. I left food out for her. The weather started changing for the worst and I had to figure out a way to catch her. If you spoke to her she would bark and run away. She was very smart at avoiding all my capture attempts. I could tell she was scarred and lonely. One day when I pulled into the drive she was eating the food I left for her. I slowly got out of the van and noticed she was following my cat around. I said nothing and began to pretend I was sweeping out the van. I called my cat and she followed her over to the van (within a foot of me). She licked my heel! I played with my cat while she watched. Then I walked into my garage calling my cat-the dog followed too. I closed the door, sat down, pet the cat and she came over to me. She let me pet her. When I picked her up and put her on my lap she licked me unceasingly. She had not been held for some time. My vet said she was almost a year old. No one claimed her. She adopted me. I believe she is a gift from God sent to ease the passing of our canine family -Demi 17 yrs (dalmation) a couple of weeks after her arrival. Followed by the passing of Murphy (16 yrs) our retired fire dept lab investigator and then Stormy (Sheltie) 17 yrs.
