I've always wanted a dog, but the timing was never perfect. Duke showed up at my mom's one day and he never left her yard. He hung around for several weeks. My mom put an ad in the paper and searched the newspaper for a lost dog, but nobody claimed him. I would go visit my parents and grandma (she lived with my parents) about once a week and that's when I would see Duke. After seeing him once or twice, I fell in love with him. He was the friendliest dog ever who was abandoned and left without a home. My mom couldn't keep him and she was about to send him to the HOPE for Animals shelter (euthanasia free). I was able to bribe my boyfriend into letting me keep him! On August 22nd, 2009 Duke came home with my boyfriend and I. The very next day my grandma died. I will always believe that Duke was sent to us for a reason and he was my grandma's guardian angel keeping her alive. The day after I took Duke home, my grandma died. It's like Duke was keeping her alive or something, just coincidence, huh?
I believe Duke is a purebred lab about one year old, but not really sure!
