Arrival Story:
Poor girl had been passed from pillar to post before coming to live with me. Long story short she was being kept in a basement because owners parents didn't want her in the house. Before her previous owner she was apparently kept tied up outside. Anyway her Owner asked if she could stay in my back yard for a while. I wasn't too keen but agreed it would be better than a dark basement. and only until he found a new suitable place to stay ... that was over 2 years ago ...needless to say she's found a perminant home. (even if she did eat 2 holes in my bedroom wall ...)

Bio:
Anyway, I couldn't let her stay outside without company, also she was scared, shaking, walked very low, no tail wags and would not lift her head up, she would try to hide and was very very lethargic. Poor girl had heartworm, ear infecton, nail infection, tapeworm and an auto immune disease that was destroying her red blood cells. Now she is much much better ... her head is held high, that tail does a full wag and her disease is in remission. Needless to say I am still paying the vet bills ...... arggghhhhh. Still Ruebers seems to love me and I couldn't bare to be without her. Poor girl doesn't seem to know how to play, but now likes to run in the back yard with me . Also tries to sit on my lap..... urgghhh ... she's a heavy dog ! We have finally managed to lose some weight - 6lbs so far ... only another 6 to go. And finally can walk well on a leash, comes when called (mostly :-)) and can now respond to the sit and stay command.
