Arrival Story:
Bruiser was a Christmas gift to me from my husband. My husband gave me some money and told me to go pick out a puppy. I skimmed through on-line ads and one litter caught my eye. The ad said they were Jack Russel Terrier mixes (we later discovered that he is really a shepherd/grey hound mix.) The litter was at a shelter for unwanted litters. I drove through a blizzard to reach the shelter. There were several litters available and each litter was in a seperate crate. The owner directed me to the litter I came to see. He said that there was one boy and pointed him out to me. He was sitting coyly in the corner with his back facing us. He looked over his shoulder at me and I fell in love.

Bruiser is a well rounded pup. He quickly caught on to crate training and being house broken. Bruiser is very attatched to my husband and I. He has a touch of seperation anxiety. He loves having visitors and being around people. He is too smart for his own good. He knows how to open all the doors in our apartment, including the one on his crate. He knows where we are headed in the car just by the scenery. He loves to snuggle on the couch and on the bed. We are always in awe of his human like qualities. He vocally announces his comments and moods with different groans of approval and disapproval. He is very sensitive to our moods and is quick to offer a shoulder to lean on when we are feeling down. Bruiser also loves playing with other dogs. He is very nose driven and needs to sniff everything twice.

I have been having a super summer. I have gone to the beach and swimming a bunch of times. We have gone hiking at parks all over. I have had so much vanilla ice cream and frozen bones that it is not even funny. I have gone on some grea car rides but there have been days when it was too hot and humid for even me to stick my head out the window. Those days I basked in the A/C. My fav spot in the apartment is on the couch with air blowing on me. I have had a few play dates with Lady, Toni, Tori, and Ruby. My Uncle Nicholas has taken me on a few bike rides with him. Those are my favorite. I love running besides him. And I love napping afterwards. Oh, I forgot to tell ya, a couple months ago I got hurt by another dog and had to get stitches on my face. They are all healed up now and you can hardly tell they were ever even there. See ya.

I have had quite an emotional week. First, on Monday, my ma puppy-sat her friend's puppy. She was a chow-pit mix. All black. And really small. We played and played. I would chase her. She would chase me. We rolled together. Sat together. It was so much fun. I became obsessed with her and wanted to harass her all night. I was pretty mad when she ate out of my food bowl. Then on Tuesday I got to run in the back yard with my pup pal Lady. I was such a mess afterwards and I smelled so goooooood. Then tonight the whole family watched Where the Red Fern Grows. It was one of my mom's favorite books and movie when she was young. We watched the new version. It broke my heart and I cried. I just couldn't take it. Sigh.

Bad day.

I was in such a bad mood yesterday. I got mad at the girl human because she took a shower, so I knocked over the garbage can, ripped up the garbage, and strategically placed it all over the apartment. I found a container of french onion dip. I was like, SWEET!! It was really good. Then I hid the container behind the couch. So, the girl cleans it up. Whenshe went to the computer, I did it again. Then, I made a point to chew up my bones on her bed. I did that a couple of times. I had a better day today. I played in the snow with my dog pal, Lady. She pinned me down and got my face all muddy. It rocked!!!!
