Favorite Toy: Her ducky and bunny Favorite Food: hot dogs, cheese, chicken Favorite Walk: around Dorr's pond Best Tricks: taking a bow, sittingpretty, high five, listen for th train, saying her prayers Arrival Story: I had previous had a Border Collie Beau who crossed the bridge to eternity in 2000 after 15+ years with me. Prior to his pasing I had lost 3 cats one right after the other from 1995 thru 1999. So I went a long time without another pet because I was so sad. Finally, a freined needing a home for one of her cats brought him to me in 2004. He is a love, Oliver a yellow and white tiger.
A few years later I met someone with whom I became friends. He had 2 Chocolate Labs, Pip & Reese. I bonded with them and they with me. We soon grew apart and thatis whenI realized how much I missed the dogs as muchas the friend.
Just so happened one day I was warching TV and they advertised for Craig's List (before the scandal). I knew it was kind of an eBay type site. So I brought it up but was not lookimg for anything in paricular.
The 1st thing that popped up was 'pets'. I thought that is something that interests me. So I drilled in. It brought me to puppyfind.com. So I kept on going. Pick a breed or let us find one for you based on your lifestyle. Heck I knew I wanted to look at Borders, so offf I went.
Now I am looking at pages of puppies. As I scrol down the 1st page - tere was this little black and white. "She's cute" I thought but went on. 2 more pages and back I came. Looking into her face I find she was born on 11/02/07 and would be ready to go at 8 weeks, her nanme is Porsche (coming soon I thought). She was in WA state and I in NH. Hmm, then you have to pay to get her here on top of the cost to the breeder.
Oh my this reminds me when I bought Beau, I was in the middle of a divorce at that time and did nothave 2 nickels to rub together. This is de ja vu. I do nothave this kind of money, so away I go.
A couple of days go by and back I go to the website - she is still there that sweet liitle face staring at me. Ok, wellI willemail the vreeder and see if she is still available. Another couple of days and I have an answer. The breeder says she was touched by my email and wants me to call her on Sunday morning around 8:30 PST.
So I call her and we chat and I know she is sizing me up and interviewing me for one of the most important jobs - becoming the new mommy for one of her littel puppies. Well it is a done deal, I pass and we make arrangements to ship her east.
She flew here on 12/28/07 and is the absolute love of my life. Bio: My name is Sophie. I live in a nice home with my brother, Oliver (he's a cat). We have plenty of food and water, a big yard, lots of toys and a human who loves us and plays with us all of the time.
We are trying to help those animals who are less fortunate. There are many who are homeless or being abused. Not all dogs and cats have a good home, family or even a nice yard to run and play in like Oliver and I.
We, mommy and I (Oliver cannot do this; he is a cat, ya know) are doing a walk to raise awareness and funds to help those who cannot help themselves.
