Likes:
Echo likes me most - HANDS DOWN. He loves having Hedwig around and he likes when Leilani (my partner) talks to him and looks into his eyes.

Pet-Peeves:
He does not like messes, peanutbutter, or being alone!

Favorite Toy:
He is not really a fan of toys!

Favorite Food:
Chicken and Rice, though it seems by his little beggar eyes, that he would love some scraps of anything!

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere where he can see or smell a cat. He perks right up!

Best Tricks:
Echo doesn't do tricks at all - at least not on command, but he rolls over on his back and it is pretty cute. He also grabs his long nose with his little fuzzy paws (like he is shy).

Arrival Story:
I was looking for a dog that I could take to work with me as a therapy dog. I searched for dogs that would get along with cats, that had a calm demeanor, and were small. Echo was a perfect match. He is a beautiful purebred long-haired mini cream. When I walked up to choose between he and another foster mate of his, I was smitten. His eyes looked up at me, as his head was drooped on the grass. He didn't make a sound! I was amazed at how calm he was. I adopted him and went on my way to take him to his new home. I began taking him to work and everyone fell in love with him. He was angelic, and then, I had to leave him home one day and he howled the entire time I was gone. I assumed it was just because it was new, the being alone, but it happened again and again. I began researching separation anxiety and tried all of the tips from all of the resources I located...to NO AVAIL...he cried and cried until I was in sight again! He loves me!!! Then, the shelter offered me an opportunity to foster another one of their dogs to see if it would help - and (see Hedwig's profile) it did! Echo was a new dog!!! He cries a bit now when I leave, but it stops and the boys keep each other company! He is so sweet and gentle and I am so glad he came into my life!

Bio:
Echo was a show dog initially, then was hired out to do a commercial. I guess once they go professional, they cannot go back to being in amateur shows??? Anyhow, he was sent to shelter. He lived at another home (where he and his foster brother were together) for just under a year, and the family gave them both back...Well I lucked out!!!!

Dear Diary:

I have a home!!!! I have a mommy!!! I have a mommy #2, and I have a brother...oh yeah and a sister (but she is a cat) so she is in charge of us all!!!

I am so happy in my new home and when I was having a hard time being alone (I still can't believe it) my mom got me a brother!!! I am so lucky!

I find out new things each day. I don't like peanut butter, it is very messy. I don't like to have a bath, but I do sit still. I do like the park and I really like meeting other dogs even though I am shy. I am going to help my brother (Hedwig) learn to like dogs besides me, so we can have lots of friends!

I am so excited I almost peed!!! Yipes!

I better get back to my crate before I am caught! I need to dream of bones and a house, and a family and love and...oh my gosh...I have all those things!!!! It is REAL!!!!
