Arrival Story:
I went to petfinders.org looking at standard poodles...being a dog groomer I became fascinated with poodles and hey the bigger the better right? Well here was this PITIFUL picture of a shaved down dog that looked incredibly depressed...she was in Texas..I'm in Indiana...I tried hard to forget about her...figured she would find a great home in Texas....well I couldn't stop thinking about her...she was the product of a divorced couple and the man got back at his ex by leaving Katy in the backyard to starve! She was 45lbs when I got her...she is now 65lbs and still very svelte. Animal cops was on one night and it showed this dog that had literally been starved to death and I started crying..I couldn't leave this dog...I called her rescue and told them I HAD to have this dog...she needed me. My husband was not gung ho about it..but I packed up the kids and intended to go get her in Texas without him....well he came out to say goodbye I thought..and jumped in the drivers seat...he drove 12 hours to go get her.

Bio:
She is a most awesome dog and I'm so happy that we have her! Love her to bits! Katy enjoys looking good...and posing for pictures...she is quite proud of herself..even when we enter creative grooming contests and I get to dye her hair and carve out patterns! lol! No matter what anyone else thinks..she is quite proud of herself and holds her head high! Petfinder.com has a new book out called Petfinder.com presents Second Chances and Katy's story is on page 112!! My baby lives on in print!
