Arrival Story:
Paddi was advertised as up for adoption by a family who lost their home and had to move to an apt. where dogs weren't allowed. When I went to the house, she was very, very shy and it took 15 minutes before she would even let me touch her. I continued to pet her and eventually took her for a short walk, and I had won her over! She jumped happily into my car, and we were a pair. I've since discovered her shyness is mostly over the unknown, so I've been slowly introducing her to new things: an empty box, crackly paper, the fluorescent light in the bathroom.
Bio:
We are able to take walks now, she's learned to ignore the dogs in the backyards as we go by, but I still can't let anyone try to pet her , she growls. I can't take her to Pet Extreme, she's very agressive and acts practically rabid! So, it's slow and easy we go. Oh, and I'm reading "The Cautious Canine" by Dr. Patricia B. McConnell.
