Sept 21, 2009: Greetings! My name is Max and I am new to BRBR. I think I am about 6 or 7 years old (I lost count!) and I just settled into my foster family’s home. Boy, do I have a lot to tell. First, let me begin with how I arrived here. See, I was hanging around this convenience store and this gentleman spotted me and saw that I could use a little food, so he took me home. I liked it there, but their town only allowed a certain number of dogs per household and I was stretching the limit. So, the BRBR found me a foster family and I have been here for almost 3 days. I have one fur-sister (Ally) who wants to play all the time, but I’d rather relax. My foster mommy tells me I am sweet and she is always saying “Good Boy”. I love milk bones and will even “speak” and “sit” to earn one. I have had one accident in the house, but that’s because I got real excited that I could actually live inside. Now, I just stand at the backdoor (Ally taught me that) or pace the floor when I have to go out. I go out, take care of business then immediately make my way back to the door. My foster mommy and daddy are feeding me well and trying to put some weight on me because you can still see my hip bones and a few ribs. I go to the vet on Wednesday to get my shots (yuck!) and hopefully they will weigh me, but I’m guessing I weigh about 55-60 pounds. I don’t really like the crate, but will stay in it for short periods of time while my foster parents run errands. I like sleeping on the floor beside my foster parents’ bed. Don’t worry about putting blankets down, though because I will “dig” them up. Oh, I love car rides and walk perfectly on a leash!! I am very charming and will make your heart just melt! That’s all for now; please stay tuned for more, as I will have more to tell. Love, Max

Hi everyone! It’s me, Max. I have had a very busy week, beginning with going to the vet and getting all of my vaccinations- I was such a good boy and I didn’t even cry a single tear. They also tested me for heartworms and I was negative! Hooray! And I weighed 62 pounds. I went to Bark in the Park and an adopt-a-thon where I met more nice people and I know they all thought I was some kind of cute! I behaved very well on the leash, no pulling or tugging and was great in crowds, small gatherings, lots of dogs and even puppies. I am quite a charmer too!! My new favorite things to do are to go on car rides, letting my head hang out the window and drink out the toilet (shh…don’t tell anyone!). I am learning new sounds that I find quite interesting, including airplanes, hair dryers, telephones, and lawn mowers- they don’t scare me; I’m just curious about them. I love snuggling up to my foster parents and getting my ears rubbed. I like “puppy massages” too. My foster mommy bought me my very own bed yesterday, and boy, did I sleep like a king! I really love living here, but really and truly want to find a forever home. Please open your hearts and consider adopting me; I promise I will make you smile everyday and bring joy into your life and home. Love, Max

Hello all. Max, here. I have had another great week with
my foster family. I am starting show-off my real personality- I have the
best wiggle-butt ever AND the best bean curl!! I have been playing with my
fur-sister a little more…we like to box and kiss each other on the mouth! It
is nice having a fur-buddy to kick-back with, but to be honest I would be
perfectly happy without other fur-creatures around. I went on a road trip
this weekend to the beach. I was a perfect angel in the car for the entire
drive- that’s nearly 3 hours! (Thank goodness my foster parents stopped for
a potty break!). I got to go on the beach and play in the sand and water. The
sand felt funny between my toes and the waves breaking scared me a little at
first, but I became used to it and even put my feet in the water. My foster
parents were so proud of me! I also graduated from the crate…thank
goodness! Although, staying in the crate really wasn’t too bad. I have a
new favorite treat called “Beggin’ Strips”, and oh boy, are those treats
tasty! I also love to snuggle. My foster mommy tells me I am her cuddle
bug! I am still searching for my forever home and I just know that the
right family for me is out there. I will be your best friend and your loyal
companion. Please give me the chance to brighten your days and enliven your
nights. I will definitely bring smiles to your face. Love, Max
