Arrival Story:
Lucky's previous owner had to surrender her due to moving. She is an energetic pit mix with one heck of a gorgeous brindle coat, her mom is a yellow lab mix, and the dad was a pit mix...
She is probably 2 to 3 years old.
I've been walking her, trying to get her used to a leash, but she is a tough one to break in pulling! she just wants to go! But I think if she were to get daily/consistent exercise this would likely become a non issue.
Bio:
Lucky really needs a furever home. She is good with kids and other dogs, but doesn't care for kitties much. She was a house dog before she came to the shelter. Since it is summer she gets to spend her day outside, and at night she goes into her kennel which she keeps clean.... aside from the sad destruction of stuffed toys that is. ;)
She is high energy and needs a lot of exercise! An experienced bully person would be the ideal adoptee.
10/21 Update:
A couple of weeks ago, a volunteer at the shelter decided to walk a known 'naughty' dog near the other dogs who were in their outdoor runs. I'm not sure what exactly happened, but Lucky wound up fighting through the fence with this dog. And in the end it was Lucky who was put down. I was extremely upset over this, as Lucky had never shown aggression. The other dog, an old black lab is known for not getting along w/dogs and most people. Why this person chose to take her anywhere near the other dogs... I'll never know.
All I do know is that out of peoples stupidity and fear, a sweet dog had to be put down.
