After returning from our Christmas family visit overseas, we decided to start looking for the right dog. Unbeknownst to us, only 2 days after landing, we found Bandit up for Adoption in a small town an hour away.
We called in, and were put on a waiting list. I received a call back after a couple of hours - as it turns out the lady ahead of us on the list was rejected because she was a single, living in an 800 sqft condo, and worked all day. We also live in a 800 sqft condo, and both worked all day (at the time) but my husband works a 5 min walk from home, so he comes home for lunch. It took me half an hour on the phone to convince her to see us that night and consider us for adoption. It also helped that we live near tons of dog parks.
So we drive an hour away, and then spend 2 more hours at the foster home discussing and going over things. Finally, the foster parents inform us that they feel confident releasing Bandit to us and we're on our way! We weren't expecting to bring him home that night so we were totally unprepared (no crate, no toys, no food bowls, just his dog food!).
He was well worth the 4 hour trip! It's been non-top chaos, fun, and sweetness since we brought him home! Forums Motto: i love the beach The Groups I'm In: Cesar's Dogster Pack The Last Forum I Posted In: Green tripe - cooked? I've Been On Dogster Since:
