Starting to get warm her in Texas

Hi everyone, sorry we have not kept up. Mostly we just go to work, Dr. appts. And out to eat once in a while. I have gotten to go to the dog parks a couple times a week so that is nice. Mom felt so bad last week that she had to stay home. Her heart conditions seems to be getting worse. She has several doctor appointments coming up in the next couple weeks so hopefully they will figure something out.
Last weekend mom did manage to give me a hair do. She still needs to finish my feet but I do not mind having hairy feet. I have been having lots of fun playing the box game. We have had a few big ones so I get to jump on them and play circus dog (that is what dad calls it).
The neighbors got another little dog that is very friendly. I think she is a Chihuahua mix. We have got to visit a couple times.
The weather here is getting very warm and sticky. It is not too bad going to work with mom as her and I just stay in the car with the AC on if needed. Mom makes sure we both drink lots of water. We both also keep an eye on dad as he has to walk out in it.

catching up

Boy has mom been bad about updating my diary, good help is hard to find. In her defense she has not been feeling that well and working.
Mom did get her tooth removed so that is good. She had it done by an oral surgeon. He was great and let me sit on mom’s lap until she was sedated then dad and me waited in the waiting room. Once mom was finished the nice lady came and got us so we could be with mom.
Last week mom also got another set of back injections. Once again I was involved in the whole procedure, well except for when they took her to the surgery room. Many of the staff remembered me and once again I was the star of the day.
Mom also had a tilt table test a couple weeks ago. It was yucky. I sat on Dad’s lap in a chair next to mom while they did her test. She got very lightheaded and had a seizure. We have been back to the cardiologist and he is recommending mom see a neurologist.
Let’s see oh ya we also went to see her rheumatologist. The appointment went well and afterwards mom was approached by a lady. She said she was in charge of patient care and wanted to know if mom would like it put in my chart that she uses a service dog. Mom said yes, that was a great idea and thanked the lady. Now when mom goes to any of the UTMB clinics they will know all about me.
I finally got over my itchy issue. Mom got some nice natural stinky spray to keep the biting bugs off me. She wanted to give me a hair do today but she is not up to it. I do not mind looking like a rag a muffin, whatever that is.
Today we are to have some bad weather in the afternoon. We are even under a tornado watch. So far all is well.
I have got to go to the dog park a couple times but have not met anybody special. Mostly I just like to sniff and investigate.
Well that is all for now. We have a couple busy weeks coming up. Maybe someday we will do something fun.

mom's birthday and some pictures of me

Hi everyone today is mom’s birthday and she is old. Everything has been going pretty well. The injections mom got in her back seem to be helping her pain a lot. Now if she can just get her broken tooth fixed.
Today we went to work in a new area in the country. It was pretty and mom found a nice field to take some pictures of me in. It was with her phone so they are not that good.

Mom is sick

Well of course now mom has the cold/flu thing. She spent all day yesterday in bed with a fever so hopefully she will feel better today.
Mom says it is hard to tell how well the pain injections worked when she aches all over from the fever. She does think that it has helped some area though. We will know more in a day or two. On Monday we go see her pain management doctors so we will see what they have to say.
I did get to go to the dog parks a couple times this week so that was nice. Also mom and dad are still playing focus games with me in the evening so I look forward to that.
We were going to go to the local dog show this weekend but since mom does not feel good we are not. The nice lady who has Norwich who groomed me a couple months ago is showing so that would have been fun. Who knows maybe mom will feel good enough to go tomorrow.
Mom and I like to go to the dog shows but Dad does not like to. He is a good sport though and takes us sometimes.

mom has procedure to help with pain but I am the star

Well today we went to the surgical center for mom to have her procedure to hopefully help with her pain. The procedure went well but mom did have a few small seizures in post op, so she is wiped out. She will try to give a better report later but wanted our friends to know we are okay.
Everyone there was great about me. We had no problems and everyone thought I was amazing and beautiful. A few of the nurses actually saw me doing my job and were very impressed.
Right now mom and I are on the couch as she cannot get comfy in bed and does not want to keep dad from sleeping as he has a cold.

Catching up on things

Hi friends thought I would give you an update even though we have not done much. Mom’s pain has increased and she is pretty miserable. She makes it through the work days then spends the off ones in bed or on the couch.
The good news for me is we have found several nice little dog parks for me to visit so several times a week when we are out working we take a break and I get to hand out for a bit. Many times I am the only one there but it gives me a place to run around off leash and explore.
The other good news is that Dad and mom have been playing lots of training games with me. Every evening and several times on the weekend we do little fun games. It is kind of like training but fun and full of treats.
My itching is getting better but still there. Last weekend mom did manage to groom on me a little so that helped getting the dead coat out. She needs to work on me some more but her health and the weather are not cooperating.
We have been having lots of storms which make mom and her pain worse. It is has been raining since Thursday and is supposed to rain until Monday.
This Tuesday mom will go in for her pain injections in her spine. We are hoping that will give her some relief. I will be going as well and wait with Dad while she is in the actual surgery area. Mom likes me really clean when we go to medical building so I may get a bath tomorrow.

Catching up and happy Saturday

Well everything is fine here. We got to go to the dog park again and there were about 8 nice little dogs in the small park. Mom and dad plan on us going a couple times a week on our way home from work.
Mom has been using the Tens Unit the Pain management doctors ordered for her. It seems to help some. She is still figuring out how to use it. The weather is cold her this morning and we are all snuggled in watching TV.
Mom had hoped she would feel good enough for us to go to the store but probably not going to happen today. We do not go in stores much anymore, so I do not get the practice. Mostly I just ride in the car with mom and dad for work all day. Sometimes they go out for lunch and then I go with them.
The good thing is Mom has been working with me doing tricks and tasks. It is fun and keeps things from getting boring and of course I get treats.

Mom's new doctors, dog park and mom's tooth

Hi everyone, I will try and catch you up on our life. On Monday mom went and saw the pain management doctors. They were great; we all liked them a lot. They had the results from moms MRIs. She basically has degenerative disc disease and inflammation in the joints of her spine. The only herniated discs are the one in her neck which she already knew about.
They were very nice and caring about mom and all her pain. They have come up with a plan to help mom feel better. She will get some procedures done with injections in her spine. They also ordered her a Tens unit which she can use at home. Once they get her back doing better then they will see about her knee and neck pain.
On Tuesday when we were out working we found a nice Dog park we did not know about. Mom and dad said we had time so they took me there. It had a very nice small dog area that I got to go in. There were two pugs, a Bichon, a pom x, a chi x, and two shelties. All of the dogs and people we very nice.
We all had a good time but unfortunately mom paid for all the walking and standing around. It really made her back hurt and was up most of the night. The park is not far from how we come home from work so I am sure I will get to go again.
Also a piece of one mom’s teeth broke off. It does not hurt but she needs to find a dentist to get it fixed.

Happy Heart Days to our friends

Happy Valentines to all of my friends. We are not doing anything special just working. Yesterday we got rained out of work so we celebrated it then. Mom and Dad went to a nice restaurant for lunch on Galveston Island. Then we went for a nice drive along the coastline then home for a big nap. Mom had to go there for her physical therapy so it worked out nice.
We had a little problem with them not really being happy about me being there but it all turned out fine. Dad spoke to the manager so now the whole staff is educated and they treated us great over lunch.
Well we have to go to work, so have a nice day.

Same old stuff

Same old stuff. Mom is still dealing with back pain and irregular heart rate. We have not heard the results of the MRI’s she got last week and gets an evaluation for physical therapy this week.
The new medication for her heart is helping some but she still is having problems. I have alerted twice in the last couple weeks that her blood pressure was really low. She listened to me and checked and of course I was right. This allowed her to stay seated until it got better. I also have started noticing the irregular heart rates.
Her heart doctor says that is great but he smiled at me and said mom still should get the implant monitor. I love going to the office of the heart doctor, they all love me there.
Mom and Dad did not work that much last week as it rained a lot. It gave mom some time to rest though so that was good.
I still have the itches’. I am not getting salmon oil in my food. Also mom was able to find all the stuff I used to eat and am on that now. She even gave me a bath and put some special soothing stuff on my skin. We hope it all hopes soon.
Mom got the new patches for my vest and she is working on that. She got patches that go on my car harness and anew one for my summer mesh one.
