Toys! The children's especially! Climbing shelves.
Not getting his way right now! Being fussed at ever. Not getting to go outside right now! Being told to get off the furniture!
Anything belonging to the kids. Anything that squeaked or moved. Anything that was stuffed such as throw pillows & bed pillows.
Hamburger patties & stew meat cooked for the dogs. Boiled chicken with rice & English peas. Blue Buffalo dog food.
By any water: the lake, a pond, a stream, the beach. Mountain hiking trails. The woods. Out around the neighborhood streets where he could meet other dogs.
Leaping onto counter tops. Climbing shelves. Climbing a little ways up a tree. Climbing up the fence but not going over. Thieving things like food & toys (kids toys)... Playing dead w/ bang you're dead. Army crawl. Shake. High Fives.
Jesse James came to live with his Dad when Josey Wales died & when the replacement for Josey Wales called Josey Wales II was stolen by persons unknown & enough said on that one for now, but he didn't disconnect his own locking leash & leave on his collar. Jesse came from dog rescue after much searching & while he didn't look just like Josey in appearance, he acted a great deal like him -- except for one thing: he became the most spoiled rotten dog ever for awhile & he could do NO WRONG in his Dad's eyes & just about always got his way whether it be in a dispute with the kids over a toy or whether it be in a dispute with another of the dogs & he loved to pick on Outlaw Josey who just kept growing to the disappointment of his Dad, when he was supposed to be the smaller range of medium sized dog. When Jesse returns he will be trained & will not prey upon the other dogs & the kids in the household as he is Dad's little devil & not his little angel. Actually he was one of three spoiled rotten dogs Josey Wales II with Jesse James & one other were called The Three Musketeers but they were devilish musketeers & if they all return Trouble 1, 2, & 3 will all go through extensive dog training say the children who called them the wild wolves of the house as well.
Jesse James was believed found & was going to be allowed to stay with a family but as it turned out that wasn't Jesse James. Eventually Outlaw Josey == who is in the low range of larger dog size & a Basenji == was found with a Carolina Dog pack in the Southern United States where the family had lived for awhile & lo & behold Jesse James was running with another pack near him. Augie was the first dog found with the Carolina Dogs. While Jesse was away the kids made up all kinds of strange travels for him & the other dogs but heavily for Jesse & the adults actually started it telling them that Jesse was traveling around the world & maybe even to the stars hence his first photos. No, like two others, Jesse got tired of all that was going on in the household & all the family & he ran away -- with the Carolina Dogs. Speculation is that he was running after Outlaw Josey. Jesse James was believed stolen as he had been stolen twice before & had been located. This time when he is returned home, hopefully there will be more safeguards & so he will not be stolen (as other dogs were & returned & why they were believed possibly stolen again) & will not run away with wolves or Carolina Dogs or extraterrestrials or any imagined or real creature. Josey Wales II was originally called Jesse James if the children in the family will remember but he so looked like Josey Wales the angel that he was renamed hence part of the confusion....

Yeah I lived up to the wanted poster of the outlaw after whom I was named! I was Jesse James the stick 'em up bad cowboy from the Wild West & seemed determined to live up to my bad reputation, the human one. Not that I actually ever bit anyone or ever hurt anyone -- I just wanted my way, demanded my way & while Dad usually expected Josey Wales II the original bearer of my name to behave (Dad actually renamed him because he kept calling him Josey & got sick again & so forgot that he had renamed him Jesse James) although after awhile that went sliding to Hades too, I was just allowed to do whatever I wanted as Dad somehow expected the little boys to train me & control me insisting that I was their dog. Now when I come back, maybe I will be their dog but I was trained to be Dad's service dog & so I was Dad's dog & as long as I got Dad whatever he needed & helped Dad get around, hey I could get away with almost anything plus there was always Outlaw Josey to blame with it the original intended replacement for Josey Wales who just kept growing and who was a mega Basenji in nature. You've heard that Basenji owners are the only ones or just about so who brag about the path of cyclone like destruction they leave in their wake? Yes, well one of those people should have been Outlaw Josey's owner or person I should say & the more Mom defended Outlaw & worked on getting him trained the madder Dad got & the more he would say then the other dogs can do just as they please. After all, said Dad, the old attitude was let dogs be dogs. Actually, and Mom knew this, we were wreaking a great deal of the havoc & Outlaw Josey was being blamed (Mom says she may change the name after the Outlaw part some time soon) & that made Mom very mad.... Dad kept looking to re-home Outlaw & Mom kept saying no & so yes, he probably is the first one to run away though the German Shepherds were too well trained to run away & we suspect that they chased down the harassing burglars & that they were briefly stolen, but that the burglars knew that they the GSD's could be tracked & so dropped them somewhere.
Just so you'll know, I'm a real devil & a half & don't I know it! Guess things will change when I'm returned home & that Outlaw will get his share of love & respect as Mom demanded though due to his destructive nature Mom said due to his frustration & Dad's yelling at him all the time in part & because Dad was making him the scapegoat for all that we did & because he was hurt all the time saw the disappointment in Dad's eyes & heard it in his voice when he really loved Dad & really, really needed to be loved in return so he acted out to get attention. Dad wanted to call the Dog Whisperer for a private session or two not to be on tv, didn't know if he could afford it but didn't care & Mom said if he did that he would find out who the trouble makers really were. Yeah, don't I know it.
GRRRR's until next time, Jesse James a really bad guy dog!
