The life of Tovah!

One sick pup

The other night I started to get a little diarrhea. Mom wasnt too worried because she had started mixing canned food with my regular food so I would eat more. Well after a day and a half it didnt go away and she started seeing blood in it so off to the vet we went. I HATE going to the vet. Everytime I do I get poked and prodded with something but I could tell Mom was worried and it was important. The vet took a stool sample and said it was probably either worms, colitis or the start of Parvo. I came from a not so great breeder, so even though mom had taken me to the vet and had me dewormed and vaccinated the threat was still there. She hooked me up to an IV and gave me some fluids before sending me home with some meds. The vet said she would call us the next day with results from the stool sample. All I could eat was Beef Gerber baby food and white rice and I had to drink diluted gatorade. BLECH!! The next day though we got a call from the vet who said I was LOADED with hook worms I had probably gotten from my dog mom at the breeders. I was started on some more medicine and the outlook is great thanks to my wonderful vet and dedicated mom! I am feeling better today and running and playing as usual. Hopefully the diarrhea will clear up in a few days and with the meds the worms will be killed.

Shopping and swimming!

Yesterday was a looong day. It was pretty fun but still longer than the neighbors daschund!! First we went outside and played for a while and than mom took me and Angel to Petsmart. Angel got a new collar and we both got treats and Mom bought a slicker brush to groom us.
Than after that we came home and ate lunch and I napped for a while. Than mom came in and got me and we went to her friends house and went swimming in a "pool"! It was so weird. I wanted to swim but everytime I got in, I got scared and wanted to get out. It was my first time swimming. Mom said as I get older Ill pry learn to like it. I dont know about that but maybe! I was one tired pup and slept the whole way home and through the whole night. Mom was so proud!

A visit with the vet

Yesterday I met my new vet. I got all my shots and dewormed plus Fronline for any fleas I have. Mom said I was sooo good. I whined when I got the shot but that was it. Who could blame me?? That thing hurt!! My big sister Angel got TWO shots and didnt even flinch!! How does she do it?!? I dont know but Im glad that parts over. Mom says Im lucky im healthy and that the only thing wrong with me is treatable mange. My breeder didnt take the best care of me. I got medicine for it though and my vet said Ill be good as new in just a few weeks! =DDD
