Arrival Story: Kaidence was a play mate for her brother Samson. Samson went through separation anxiety when his human play mate moved away. His parents thought he needed someone to keep him company and started looking on line. His mom came across Kaidence's profile on petfinders. She contacted the shelter and found out that Kaidence wasn't in a shelter. She was at her home but her first mom had health needs and could no longer care for Kaidence. Since she was the primary care taker Kaidence needed a new home. She was an expensive dog and we couldn't afford her but we did have a good home with lots of things to offer so her owner said we could come down and check her out. When we arrived she was scared and then happy to see us. Her family was so devistated that most of them couldn't even come to say goodbye. They let dad do the tough stuff. We didn't know we would get her that night but we did. She and her brother fought the first night pushing furniture around and pulling hair. Her new dad said "She has to go back! We can't do all this fighting all the time." Dad went to work the next day. When he got home Kaidence said, "I love you!" She can say it quite distinctly. Well that was the end of the "going back" talk . She and brother settled in just fine. There is still an occassional fur flying contest but over all they are great together. They miss each other when they are apart. They have had separate vacations twice.
Bio: Kaidence is a protector. She is always vigilant. She is kind and gentle but you show aggression and she has no problem holding you back until everyone has a clear understanding there is no fighting in her house. She doesn't hurt anyone she just "holds their hand" until they behave. She is a walking stomach with hair, her previous owner use to call her. She does stand at the frig and bark for treats when she thinks she is deserving. She is always biding for attention and trying to shut brother out. She usually picks being with mom over dad. We get along just fine. She sleeps with mom and dad some. She shares bed time with her brother.
