Dinner time! He also loves having his Dad carrying him around!

Pet-Peeves:
Having his brothers get too close to him :)

Favorite Food:
Well, he'd eat about anything but he loves cheese and roast beef cut into little pieces. His regular food is Nature's Variety Instinct canned.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere his Dad carries him!

Arrival Story:
Uncle was found wandering the cold winter streets and taken to the pound. His owners never came looking for the little old man. He was skinny and tired. Lissa, a WolfSpirit's volunteer, sprang him from jail. He was going to be put down the next day. She then called Lizzie(Pappy's wonderful former foster Mommy) to see if she would take him. She missed Pap and said ok. It was easy for her to fatten him up to his normal four pounds- He loves food! :) Lizzie knows how much we love Pommies and showed me his pic. I told her I would love to have him! Well, thankfully she agreed! She said she would only trust Terry and I to adopt him. It took a while for us to get in sync with our schedules. We live 6 hours apart but on June 20th, 2009, WolfSpirits had their reunion and we met up there. Our little Uncle Poppy came home with us that day and he has been an absolute joy and treasure to us!

Bio:
Uncle Pops is completely deaf and doesn't have very good vision. His back legs don't work well but that doesn't stop him from walking and even running. He just can't go up and down stairs or even squat without falling over. He also has Scoliosis so his head tips down and to the side.It doesn't seem to bother himbut the vet gave us a mild pain reliever for Arthritis and he does well. He has a hairless, indented scar on his neck that Lizzie believes was a result of being chained and letting a collar grow into his neck. He loves being outside and Lizzie says he loves the snow! He is a sweet silly old man to have around! He loves to be carried and will fall asleep that way but doesn't like for anyone to just sit and hold him for very long. When his Dad comes home from work, Uncle gets really excited and does this little dance with his paws! He does that same little dance when he smells dinner coming :) He runs at a full sprint after me when I have his dinner bowl! He's a gem and I'm so thankful to Lizzie for letting us adopt him! UPDATE: Sadly, our precious little man crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge on Thursday, April 22. His kidneys were starting to rapidly fail along with hardly having the use of his back legs anymore. He was in pain and beginning to cry alot. We did everything possible to give him comfort but alas his age finally caught up with him We don't exactly how old he was for sure, he could have been as old as 18 or 19. In the short time we had him (10 months) he was loved and cherished beyond measure. He will be very missed and forever loved. Rest well our little "Buttercup"...life won't be the same without you...
