Happy Birthday to ME.....me...me...me

Dear Diary and all you wonderful pup pals!

Gosh darn...it's been a woofin' long time since I have been here.
Well...since it is my 1 year birthday, I will update you on waz happenin' in my little dog corner of the world.

Since my last entry, I have become a Canine Good Citizen...and... had to make an emergency trip to the vet to have my stomach pumped. Let me tell ya...them underwear were pretty good going down, but not too good comin' up.

The summer is over and it was dog gone bow wowin' fun. I have helped a lot around the yard. Ya know that big lilac bush next to the garage? Let me tell ya...it is lookin' mighty good since I trimmed it.....don't know why daddy was so pi$$ed. Also, I have been doing a little....o.k....a lot of landscaping in the back yard. I have the holes dug for momma to plant flowers in...why she keeps filling them in with dirt....I don't know. Oh yeah....forgot to mention...I have been fertilizing what grass there is left and you should see how green it is. Don't know wot is causing them yellow spots.

About my birthday.....what can I say??? It was tail waggin' fun. Mommy and Daddy took me to Petsmart where I was able to socialize and jump on a few people. Mommy told me I could pick out a toy, but I figured I was too big for toys since I'm older now. I was very interested in the food stuff though. Mommy bought me some real tasty treats plus a new Super Kong to put them in. Daddy bought me a pink collar. Mommy said she is so embarrassed because I am so huge, people think I am a boy. She thinks the pink collar will give them a hint.

Anyways...after we left there, we went to a place where there were lots of trees....I think it's called a forest. We walked around this round thing with water and I saw some ducks. I wanted to see them up close, so I jumped right into the water after them....HEY....that was my first time swimmin' and it was pretty fun. Mommy and daddy didn't think it was too fun, though. Oops...forgot... I was still hooked to that red string thing daddy had in his hand and he wasn't in a swimmin' mood.
After that we came home and mommy cleaned me up...said I smelled like a dead fish. Sheesh....I thought I smelled pretty good. I sure hope mommy and daddy will take me back there soon.

Life is Good

A BIG BOWOW to my diary and pups everywhere....I have been having the best time.
I have been pretty good about not jumping over the fence, lately....that was a pretty scarry thing. Mommy and daddy have been taking me to school every week....say I need to learn some manners. I LOVE it cause I get to see all my pals that were with me in Basic Obedience. After our class we get to be off leash to run and play with each other.

Yesterday mommy and her sisters had a garage sale to raise money for some thing called American Cancer Society. (mommy and her sisters are survivors...whatever that means) Anyroo....mommy let me and daddy come and guess what....I was a BIG HIT! I was on my best behavior and I think everyone was coming just to see me....one man even offered to buy me. He wanted to take me home with him, but mommy and daddy would never give me up. They made lots of money for cancer research and advocacy< big word...but I am smart...I'm a Lab...why wouldn't I be?

Oh..yeah...forgot to tell you....I picked mommy a HUGE bouquet of Lilacs yesterday too. I don't know why she was not pleased with me. :(
Gee...whiz...I thought they would make the house smell real nice and you know what...they are pretty tasty too.

On A Short leash

O.K..... so I haven't been the best puppy lately, but GUESS WHAT???...I found out that I can jump the fence in the back yard. The other day, I was outside with daddy. I was minding my own business when this little dog in the neighbors yard started barking at me. I thought she wanted me to come over and play. Well...it's like this...the only way I am gonna get to her is to make a run for it and go right over the fence and that is PrEciSely.. wat I Did.(.Oops...my big paw got inz dee WaY....sOORy) Anyways, as I was sailing over that fence, I could vaguely (big word for a pup) hear daddy yelling at me to come, but it was too late. Once I got to the other side, I realized I had jumped the wrong fence cause I still couldn't get to the little dog...DOGNABIT!
I also realized I was in MEGA BIG TROUBLE with daddy, so I put my head down and my tail between my legs and pretendended like I was really scared.
Guess what....IT WORKED....daddy didn't yell at me or spank me. The only problem is that now I am on probation and am not allowed to go out without strict supervison. All because I wanted to play....THAT IS SO NOT FAIR. UBU gets to go out all by herself....AWOOOOOO!!!

On a brighter note, I am having a grand time playing keep away with mommy. The game goes like this...I steal something of value to her and when she says LEAVE IT, I pretend like I don't understand English. WOW...AM I EVER GETTING SOME GREAT TREATS!
