diary of the day????

Mom said she got an email that I am a diary daily pick.
Apparently, Dogster messed up during their upgrade, and I am not listed under the picks on the homepage.
So, if I am a pick, great!!!!
If not, oh well.
Mom is leaving for a dog show for the day. Catch ya later!

I have a REAL job now!

Everyone around here has a job to do except me! Beanie is the official thunderstorm alert dog, Toto is the official welcome dog, Barney is the dinner time barking dog, Crystal is the ball hog dog, Pinki is the make everyone pat her dog, Ali is Susie's dog, Taylor is the baby dog, and Georgie is "that" dog.
Well, first I tried to be the alarm clock dog and tell everyone it was time for bed. That doesn't work too well...everyone, especially Mom, gets mad at me when I run up to them and bark in their faces!
Next, I tried to be the bringer of money and other good stuff to Mom dog. That worked okay until Mom realized that the stuff I bring her I steal out of HER pockets, BOL! She started emptying her pockets when we go down to the lab pen, darn it all!
I was Smokey cat's official dog for a while but now Mom won't let him go outside anymore so I got laid off from that job, too.
However... there IS a job for me, after all!!! It seems Smokey cat is bent on escaping to the great outdoors every chance he gets. Sadly, he usually heads for the road and won't listen to Mom when she calls him. The other night Mom was desperate so she grabbed me and took me outside to catch him.
It worked really, really well!!! We just walked over to the apple tree and Mom and Susie found apples to eat and I just hung out with them. Sure enough, Smokey cat spied me hanging out with them and he raced over to see me since I am/well was his outdoor friend. Mom let him say hello to me, then she nabbed him and we all went home. Perfect!!!
Yesterday, he escaped again. This time Susie wasn't here to help so Mom raced inside and got me. She walked me right over to the tree he was lying under (he thought she couldn't see him, BOL!). As soon as he saw me, Mom walked me over to the kennel away from the road. Of course, Smokey thought we were going on a walk so he joined right in. Mom turned and walked us right back to the house, up onto the porch and in the door. Poor Smokey didn't know what happened, BOL!!!
Now Mom says that can be my full time job until Smokey figures it out. He's just a cat so that should take a while, hehehe!

My new trick....

Today it was pretty nice almost all day long. Of course, just about the time that Mom took us down to the lab pen tonight a HUGE thunderstorm rolled up. The whole sky was black, well, actually only half the sky was black and the black side was on the front of our house and the clear side was on the back where the lab pen is, BOL!!
But, none the less, we got down there and we had FUN! I was doing my usual running around and then I went over to check out Mom's pockets. You see, when she is sitting in her lab pen chair the pockets on her pants gap way out and I have discovered I can steal stuff right out of them!!!
Notice my photo with the pack of cigarettes... I stole those right when she wasn't looking the other night. I have done that a few times but she usually sees me with them BEFORE I get to chew them up, BOL! Probably cuz I find it necessary to brag about the stuff I steal, hehehe!
Anyway, tonight I discovered a whole wad of bills right there in her pocket. I stole them and ran out into the middle of the field with them. Mom had no idea, hehehe!
After a while I decided to mosey up to Mom and show her what I had... she looked down and I had a ten dollar bill. Man, that got her up out of that chair in a big hurry, BOL!
Sooo, Mom told me to go find the money. I made five trips and I found FIVE one dollar bills. That was all I could find, and Mom checked around, too, but there wasn't any more.
I have decided that since I found the money, I should get to spend it, right??? I wonder how many bully sticks I can buy with $15.00. Hope the shipping is free!!!

I'm two now!!!

Wow, it seems like I was just twelve weeks old and came here yesterday but this week I turned two years old. I wonder where all that time has gone?
It's a pretty good life here... Mom spends a fortune keeping me healthy. So far the first year it was removing my femur head when I got LCPD, and this year was removing my eye for my KCS. I wonder what it will be next year? Nothing, I hope!!!
I really enjoy playing out in the lab pen and except for the snow, wish we could live down there!!!
Mom says if we spend all our time down there it won't be any fun anymore cuz we will get bored with it. As it is now, she says it makes a GREAT reward when we are all good. Trust me, we know...when she says YARD we all instantly behave!!!
Barney and I had a pretty good birthday. We both went over to work with Mom and had breakfast with her and Julie and we also had lunch with them, too. Mmmmm, bagels and cream cheese for breakfast and pizza for lunch, my favorites!!!
Of course, we did have to get groomed while we were there, but that is okay, too. Unlike those poodles, it only takes about five minutes for our hair to dry, and since it was so hot this week Mom didn't even have to use the dryer on us.
When we got home we had to remind all the others that we were special, and Barney had to remind Beanie a few extra times as well. Mom let us play in the lab pen, too, and we did get to stay down there longer cuz it was nice and shady.
Today it is REALLY hot so we are staying inside. We did go down to the lab pen earlier cuz Mom didn't have to work this morning!!!

I am being punished...

My Mom is a very, very MEAN MOM!!! She has decided that she will no longer tolerate me barking all evening cuz I think it's bed time.
So, when I start staring at her and barking she warns me. She actually warns me several times and I usually go play with the other guys or something.
Tonight I was very tired from being outside lots today. Well, about 8:30 when it got dark I started barking cuz it WAS bed time. Mom warned me, I didn't stop so she warned me a couple more times.
I didn't listen at all so she grabbed me and put me right in my crate!!! Imagine that?? Now I am getting really worried cuz I think she is forgetting me in here and she is really going to bed now!!!!

I'm BACK!!!! And, DDP, too!!!

Well, I didn't want to, but Laurie said I had to come to work with her today cuz my vacation at her house is OVER!!!
I enjoyed it sooo much. Those bigger dogs weren't my cup of tea, but it was okay cuz I am small so I got to sit at the table with Laurie and Drew and have my cup of tea there.
Hey, Mom said I am a diary daily pick today. Now, that is exciting as well!
I will write more later but right now Mom and the girls are playing catch-up cuz the kennel is full and most of them are going home this morning!!!

I'm on an overnighter...

Whoppee... I got invited away for the weekend! And, this is a LONG weekend so I am not coming back home until TUESDAY!!!
I got invited over to Hilda's Winter home with Drew and Laurie. You see, Laurie LOVES me and she also LOVES to show me off, hehehe!
She has company for the weekend, in fact, it's BJ's family. You may remember BJ??? She used to live here with us. Now she lives in CT with Laurie's daughter.
I got to go cuz, unlike Hilda, I am not a barker. I only bark when it's bedtime.
Gee, I hope Laurie knows I only sleep IN the bed with them, and I MUST BE under the covers!!!
I hope I don't get homesick...I have NEVER spent the night away from home except when I was a baby and then I went with Walter and Condi. And, I hope Laurie remembers that I eat my dinner at night and so I haven't had my dinner yet. I hope she remembers that I LOVE to eat and she better give me enough or I will have to steal some from the lab assistants.
You would not believe how MAD and ANGRY and FURIOUS Hilda was when Laurie came and got me and not her, hehehe!!! I will sure lord this over them ALL when I get home, BOL!

I got a VIDEO!!!!

Today Mom was playing with her camera and decided to shoot a video. She did three short ones and the only one that was any good at all was of ME!!! Check it out!
Now, I must warn you, there is a lead in time with the other guys but pretty quickly you will see ME.
Mom says it's amazing cuz I am the one who had to have my hip removed last year and my eye removed last month. You cannot even see me limp in my video!
I also got some new photos today, too!

DDP today????

Mom JUST NOW discovered I was a diary pick today. She's a bit slow, IMO!!!
So, how did I spend MY day in the limelight, you ask?? Well, I got up, went outside, and went into my crate. Mom went to work, came home, let me out for about five minutes, then she left for CT to get Riley, leaving ME and everyone else in our crates, well, except for Toto who went with her.
Finally, she got home and let us all out. Since we had been in there for sooo long and it was raining ALL DAY yesterday, she put on her raincoat and let us go down in the lab pen for a run. It was freezing cold, well, fifty three, which in the middle of June IS freezing!!! And, of course, it was also raining again. We ran and ran and ran and then came home and dried off in the living room dog beds. Now we are resting until it's bed time and I can go burrow under the comforter. We will need that comforter tonight!!!

Cured!!!

Last night it came to my attention that I was sick of being sick, so I pronounced myself cured.
When MOm got home from work she took us down to the lab pen. I immediately started running and running and running. I chased all the others and when they got hot and tired, I just ran in circles. I was hoping that Mom would take me kayaking, but she seemed to think that might be a bit much!!!
Soo, I stayed home and slept in my crate. But, when Mom and Susie got home I made sure I raced around lots and bugged them, BOL!!!
Today I still got to go to work with Mom, but when she left me sitting in my chair I climbed up on the table and ate Laurie's donut, BOL!!! AFter that, I found myself sitting in an expen with Hilda for the rest of the day!
Oh well, now I just have to take a few more antibiotics AND wait for the stitches to come out. Then, I really WILL be cured and Mom will have NO EXCUSES to not take me kayaking. I will say, it is already nice to not have her following me around all day putting stuff in my eye. Some of that stuff HURT and some of it blurred my vision for the whole day!
