Well, I left my fur Momma and sisters yesterday to go to my new home. I now live with a great family with 3 young children and no other pets in the house. My new human mom is a Vet at Wheaton Animal Hospital which is ARF's designated Veterinary service. We were not officially up for adoption yet, but she saw my sisters and I at WAH and fell in love with all of us right away. So she brought my new dad and 2 of my new human sisters over to meet us. I really liked my new family right away, 'specially New Dad. But I still had to meet their oldest daughter, so we set a date to bring me to their house.
My sister Heidi and I went on the trip, as the family wasn't sure they wanted a boy dog. Heidi was afraid at first, where I was fearless and friendly. I ran right up to all the kids and adults, and to the neighbor's big German Shepherd. Very quickly they decided I was the one for them. Heidi got comfortable after a little timeout in the crate, and we had one good last romp together in the yard. Then, she and my foster parents gave me one last kiss and hug and were gone.
My sister Flora (now Bailey) was also adopted yesterday, by a neighbor of my foster parents. My other sisters will be up for adoption this coming weekend.
I'll miss my Momma and sisters for a little while, but there's lots of new people and smells and neighbor dogs to get to know at my new home. I have a wonderful furever family and I'll have a great life here.
My next diary entry will be entered by my new family. Thanks to Bethany for saving my Momma's life, and therefore mine, and my ARF fosters for loving and caring for all of us.
Confident yips,
Seth
