Best Tricks: I know sit and am learning lots of other stuff.
Arrival Story: On Nov 9th 2009 My husband and I adopted Akirah!! She is the first member to join our family.. Our little Girl. She is learning to quick! Her 1st night home with us she didn't know what to do with her self when we allowed her to have her tennis ball all night! I only had to show her once where her bed was in our room and now every night when we go to bed she is right behind us and lays in her bed. She goes with us every where and has not had to be kenneled or left alone at all.
11/5/09: Akirah has been adopted!!! Akirah is a female Pitbull Terrier. She was found on Carver Street in Bremerton and brought to the shelter as a stray on 7/23/2009. Akirah is a fun-loving bundle of energy looking for a family with lots of energy too!
Bio: Akirah is very sweet and is housebroken. She loves going for walks and exploring the nature trails and our back yard. Akirah is very well behaved and really enjoys back and shoulder rubs and scratches behind her beautiful ears. She is working on her leash skills, knows sit, and is very motivated by treats to learn new and exciting things like right now were working on lay down and stay. she's doing really good at that!
Today is a great day! I finally found a home! I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I will miss the volunteers and shelter staff, but they were very excited to see me go to a good family. I am hoping now that all my friends at the Kitsap Humane Society can be as lucky as me!
Akirah is quite a sporty lady. She LOVES tennis balls, any kind of ball really, and will blow any other dog away in weight pulling contests. She and some of her Pit Bull buddies from the shelter went to the Pit Bulls on Parade event in Kent, WA this summer. She entered the weight pulling contest and won 1st place! Akirah is very smart and quite the clown! She is motivated by treats and attention and is a fast learner. We hope this bundle of energy finds a family who is as playful as she is! Agility contests are next on her list of “things to master…”
I went to Pit Bulls on Parade in Kent and it was a blast!
I entered into the weight pulling contest and blew the other competitors away! The prize was a big bag of dog food. Yummy! I was also entered into the cute ears contest but some puppy won over me. He was deserving but my friends say I still have the cutest ears of all.
I had a great time meeting other people, animals, and kids and I can’t wait to go back next year! Will you take me?
