Arrival Story:
We found Pepper (formely known as Keenan) at the pound in Bellevue, WA. When we saw him, he was not the breed type we were interested in initally but his name was the same as my husband's and I figured it was fate, we should take him in the 'get to know ya' area. He was about the 20th dog we had visited with in two weeks, and when we took him in there, he was perfect for us. Active, loving, interested in all our family members, playful and sweet as pie. We rushed to the front and adopted him immediately. Now, we can't understand how anyone could have ever given him up, he's the best dog ever! Of course, we changed his name so calling 'Keenan' in the house wouldn't bring dog and husband. It's just under 5 months later and he's totally adjusted to his new name (I refrained from saying my husband's name much during this time) and is a spoiled and well loved member of our family.
Bio:
When we adopted him, they thought he was about 2 years old and this was his to be his third adoption from the pound- poor guy. The vet has since told us he's 3 and that's one adoption a year. Thankfully for us and him, that was his last.

Lately, I don't know what's come over me as I keep whining and whining in the morning until they let me out. Sometimes, they let me out and then I come back in and realize - oops, i forgot to do something outside so i have to go right back so I whine somemore.
The humans have been busy and don't seem to want to go to the park (or P-A-R-K as they say unless we are actually going) as much lately and it's bumming me out.
Of course, that little dog is pretty fun to play with, especially in the yard when she runs so fast she looks like a little rabbit to chase, that's super fun, but it's no dog park, let me tell you. I've already peed and sniffed that whole yard 100 times over and only that little dog pees so there's not many new smells out there like at the park.
sigh... it's early but they'll get up soon and I'll remind them again.... maybe today is the park day....

Okay, she is cute, darnit. I do like her and well, I want to cuddle with her but she's still scared of me. Sigh, what's a guy to do?

Okay- what is up with these people? We drove in the car forever and I barely got to put my nose out the window because we were going really fast. Then we get to this place that has some of the best smells ever and I have to stay in the car. Then they come get me to introduce me to this little thing that looks and smells like a dog but it's WAY too small to be a dog. It growls at me whenever I get near it. Sheesh.
Well, this thing came home with us and is still growling at me whenever I get near it and want to just have a sniff and wouldn't even play ball in the yard with me. It gets to be on the couch and the humans bed and the humans all day long and I am jealous even though they SAY they love me and pet me and give me treats, I'm beginning to wonder.
She is pretty cute though, I do admit and when she peed outside I peed over it so no big scary beasts could find her and get her. So maybe I guess I like her okay and she has stayed away from my food bowl and the humans have been petting me all day long when the other one is petting her so I guess it's not all bad.
She is still getting used to the house- I'll get them to take pictures and add her to our family if I think I want her to stay here. Gosh, she is pretty cute though....
