Arrival Story:
Available for adoption or fostering through All Creatures Great and Small Rescue (ACGSR). Shepea (formerly called "Daisy") was found on a hot July day wandering the streets of Hollister, CA. She was confused, hungry and dehydrated, trying in vain to lick water from a closed plastic bottle lying on the sidewalk. She was filthy, covered in ticks, fleas. and feces, and quite disoriented due to her deafness and partial blindness. She had an owner, but they refused to claim her. A volunteer with All Creatures Great and Small Rescue (ACGSR) saved her from impoundment by the Hollister Animal Shelter where she would most certainly have been euthanized. Vivian Kennedy, president of ACGSR, took Shepea for temporary fostering until another foster or permanent home can be found. Unfortunately, Viv's house is filled beyond capacity with rescued dogs and cats and needs to find a new foster or home for Shepea ASAP.

Bio:
Shepea's now had various bloods tests and a heartworm test, got all her shots, teeth polished, cleaned and removal of the bad ones, and the groomer her did her free of charge (and she looks gorgeous!). Shepea is completely housebroken and gets along well with other dogs. She is a special needs dog: She is deaf and partially blind and has some arthritis in her hind legs. In spite, she still loves to go for short walks with the other dogs. Also, Shepea needs to be with someone who understands she has some minor anxiety issues -- she just needs to know someone is there for her. Vivian is working with her daily to ease her anxiety and Shepea is responding well to crate training. Shepea loves people and is very affectionate. She'll lay by your side as you garden or at your feet on a comfy dog bed as you watch TV.
