Garth was born Dec. 26 1996. He was 8 weeks old when I drove to his mothers home to pick him out. Me and my father went to pick a poodle puppy for me. When we arrived we were greeted by Garth's mother. She was an all black toy poodle and smaller than Garth was when he was full grown. The mother's owners had two puppies left. One white female that was quite a bit smaller than Garth and then out ran Garth. He was the most beautiful little ball of black & white fluff, and so cheerful. I loved him on site! We gave his owners payment for him and away we went to his new home with us. He filled our home with lots of pleasure. One time in particular when he was very young I got up in the middle of the night to take him out and he started barking very differently. It was a very scared angry bark. Then he ran to the edge of the creek behind our home. I couldn't see what it was because it was very dark out, and I had no flashlight. I called for him but he was to involved with whatever was there. Then I went over to pick him up to take him in the house and I heard it! It was a very large animal sloshing up the middel of the creek. I knew it wasn't a deer because it was going very slow, I then noticed the hair on the back of Garth's neck was standing straight up in the air. I then knew this has to be a bear. I then turned and whisked me and Garth back to the house! There has been many stories to tell of his 12 and a half years with us. He was a wonderful dog and never strayed far from his front door. He was always by my side. He had 2 wives Martina was his first and she went with the angels a few months before him. He sired 6 litters with her. His other wife was Peaches who is still with us. He sired 6 litters wth her also. I now wished I would have kept one of his children. His last days were as good as could be expected. He had aging health problems and he would have good days and bad, but his very last day was a happy day. The weather was beautiful and he had spent the day with me in our yard as I did yard work. Then he went to sleep and never woke up. He passed away July 6th 2009 and I dearly miss him! May you rest in peace Sir Garth II.......
