Hi, everyone! I’ve been really busy with my heartworm (HW) treatment. Mom says that I go to be checked for HWs on 10/28 and if I’m negative, I’ll be ready to go to my “fur”ever home. I’m crate-trained, house-trained in the crate (mom will not let me have run of the house while she is at work). I love people of all sizes and ages and like to play with toys and get along great with all the other dogs (there are 6 here – wow). I’ve never met any cats so I’m not sure if I like them. I have not been able to run and play with the other dogs because of my HW treatment but hopefully that will be finished in a week. I can’t wait to run through the yard again (it has a fence). Before my treatment, I used to run through the yard and my jowls would flop in the wind. For some strange reason, mom thought that was funny and she told me I looked like Dumbo trying to fly – she can be really silly but that’s OK - I like it. With all my crate rest, I have come to enjoy my nylabones and Kong (with treats or peanut butter) – YUM! I love to ride in the car but mom puts me in a crate b/c she doesn’t want me to drive – she says I don’t have a driver’s license. I’ve gained weight too and feel AWESOME. Mom says I’ve filled out nicely and my coat is healthy and shiny. Life is good….the only thing I need now it a home to call my very own! Hugs and tail wags, Brick

Hello everyone, "I'm a Brick House...I'm Mighty, Mighty..Sweet and Cute!!!" I'm a 2 year old, brindle male with white markings. I have natural ears and a natural tail that is "extremely happy". I love other dogs, people, especially children and I'm very submissive - bullies scare me. I do not recall much about my past but recently ended up in a shelter and the nice people at Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue saved me and are helping me get well (they say I have something called heartworms but that it can be treated - it will take about 6-8 weeks). I had tons of fleas when I got out of the shelter so I got a nice bath and some medicine to kill all those fleas. The fleas had bitten me so badly that some of my hair has come out but my foster mom says that once I get some good nutrition that my hair and skin will be as good as new. I'm a young guy that is full of life and loves to play. Sometimes I rear up on people (just because I'm so excited to have this new life) but mom is teaching me that I should not do that and that I should sit politely for someone to pet me. I'm also learning what it is like to live in a house and that I need to do my business outside. I had accidents the first 2 days at my foster home but have not had any since. Mom is so silly - she gets so excited when I "go" outside - she is funny! I have a room of my own - I prefer a wire room over a plastic one because I can see out better and I get more air. You see, when you like to dance as much as I do (mom says I have a wicked wiggle and do an awesome kidney bean), you need to be able to cool off. I really like air-condition, soft beds, getting 2 meals a day, belly rubs, giving and receiving kisses and I just learned what treats are - boy, are those good! YUM - YUM - Crazy Tasty!!!!! Well, I need to go - I hear my favorite song playing (Brick House) - my toes are tapping, my tail is wagging and my rear is wiggling! If you like to disco and are looking for a really sweet guy to love you, shoot me at email (fill out an application) and you may find the next winner of "Dancing with the Stars"!! Peace and Love, Brick!
