Arrival Story:
Mom went to the shelter with her best friend who was abopting 2 kittens. Mom got out of the car and there I was. I was so cute that Mom couldn't stop thinking about me. She asked Dad and he said what he always says when Mom asks him for something, YES! Mom called the shelter and they said we would have to be there first thing in the morning on the day I was available for adoption. Mom pleaded with them and even offered to put down the entire cost. They still said NO. Mom was so sad. I wasn't in the best shape and had to spend more time at the shelter anyway. I had kennel cough and once I was better from that I had to be spayed. Someone at the shelter saw my mom's note and called my dad to say, "Heck ya, you can adopt this puppy without waiting in line!" Woohoo! It worked out so well. It took awhile for Daisy and I to get along. Jilly still doesn't like me much but we are working on it. I came from the south and was transported to Maine. I wonder if I will like the snow. They say I am a pitbull/mastiff/boxer mix. Wow! What a combination to make beautiful me! 7/26/09 - I weighed 37.5 pounds when I was adopted. 7/31/09 - At my first vet visit I weighed 40 pounds. 8/11/09 - Ty weighed me on the bathroom scale - 45 pounds. 8/25/09 - 50 pounds 8/31/09 - 53 pounds 9/5/09 - 56 pounds 9/9/09 - 60 pounds 9/13/09 - 61.5 pounds 9/17/09 - 64 pounds 9/20/09 - 64.5 pounds 9/27/09 - 65.5 pounds 10/4/09 - 67.5 pounds 10/18/09 - 71.5 pounds 10/31/09 - 75.5 pounds

Slimming Abby!

Well, the vet said I was FAT. She actually used that word....FAT. I said, "SO?" But mom and dad said, "YIKES!".

I weighed in at 111.
I should weigh 85-90.

Tonight I weighed in at Doggie Obedience class.
I weigh 107! I am heading in the right direction.

Maybe eventually I won't have to eat the crappy diet food that I really don't like. Mom has been really strict about the table food now too. She won't even give me a tiny bit. Ugh!

So, I'm working out at class, eating right and slimming down.
YEA ME!!!!

In the next week I should lose more and Sunny should gain more.
Can't wait until she weighs more than me. Maybe some day they will be on her and she can be the fat one. Hahahahahaa!!!

Obedience Class

Well, I finally get to go in the car on a week night. I finally know what all the fuss and fun is about.
You see, for the past 6 weeks Sunny gets loaded into the car and I get left home. She comes home smelling like yummy treats and other dogs. It was making me crazy.

Sunny finally finished puppy class so now we both get to go to basic obedience class. I think 'basic obedience' means 'lots of treats' because we got LOTS OF TREATS!!!

I didn't like some of the dogs. It was weird to be with a bunch of dogs I didn't know. They were nervous. I was nervous. But it all turned out OK.

Now, I just have to learn how not to pull the leash this week. That's not to hard when life is boring. But when life gets exciting, like when I see another dog, I like to PULL PULL PULL. Mom and Dad are going to need more treats.

Well, well, well......

Not only does Sunny get most of the toys and attention but now she is writing on my diary page?!?!?! UGH!!!!

I yelled to mom but she can't figure out how to remove it. Guess I'll just have to be tough and not let it get to me.

Mostly I like Sunny. She is fun to play with and she keeps getting bigger so we play rough. Mom says too rough and makes us calm down.

I guess I will forgive her for writing in my diary.

HAPPY DOG OF THE DAY SUNNY.
I love you.
Your big sister,
-Abby
