Arrival Story:
I thought I would never own a dog! When I started working at home I thought it would be nice to have a nice companion to sleep at my feet and after months of research and decision making, I figured the longhaired dachshund was the dog for me. We drove four hours to see Riley. He was the last little one in the litter not sold. This little red puppy was SO happy to see us. He wiggled, and snuggled and gave so many kisses. We had made arrangements to see another dog that day, and my heart was almost breaking as we left his home to visit the other puppy. I knew right then in my heart that he would need to be ours. We saw the other puppy and then I told my family that that little red puppy was the one for us. What a happy day it was coming home that evening with our new family member, Riley.
