Arrival Story:
We adopted Joey from our local Humane Society when he was about 7 months old (and only 47 lbs!) They didn't tell us he was a pit bull, and by the time we found out, there was no way we were going to give him up! He was our first of this breed - he won't be our last - and we will miss him forever!
Bio:
Joey suffered from severe separation anxiety and fear aggression to both other dogs and people. He was like Jeckyl & Hyde - his episodes got so severe, the pictures we took of the damage shocked even his behaviorist. I say he was sick in his head and his heart because I don't know how else to describe it. There were times when he was truly happy with us, but then there were times he was trying so desperately to show us how unhappy he was. We don't know much about his history before he came to us, but believe that the information the Humane Society had was nowhere near the truth. Adopting Joey was one of the best things we have ever done - living with him could be very painful and trying at times - but we will never regret trying to make him happy and giving him a good life. We look forward to seeing him again over the Rainbow Bridge, smiling, playing and giving all those free kisses! - finally free from the pain that tortured him here . We love you and miss you, Big Guy!
