Arrival Story:
Pamela was our foster dog. We cared for her for Labs4rescue from Aug 1, until Oct. 9, 2009 when she went to her forever home. She came up on a truck from Alabama on August 1, 2009. Her main picture shows a big change from the frightened dog I picked up. We have two of our own at home so she has pals with 4 feet and 2 feet.

Bio:
Meet Pammie! She is about 4 years old and only 56 pounds. Pamela is very sweet and well mannered, walks great on the leash and is 100% house trained. Sounds easy, right? Well the problem was she didn't seem to understand any commands. We tried other languages and a southern drawl. No signs either. She has learned "sit", then "look" (at me), and "down" . Now it all makes sense to her. New commands are accepted quickly and I doubt I'm that good a trainer. I think it was all an act. She knows she has to wait on a mat while I get all the dog meals prepped. She is making my dogs look bad - she is so well behaved! She is very food driven. Gets very excited about critters we see on the walks. Therefore, thinks balls and frisbees are pretty dull. She has had at least one litter. Took her to an adoption event, she was so well behaved, I was very proud of her! She had several applications, there were 3 emails on her before I got home. By the next day her co-ordinator picked a great couple for Pammie to live with. With pride in our work, and love for this sweet Lab, we sent her home with her new family. The dog who was 2 1/2 months ago afraid to get in my mini-van jumped WAY up into the high back end of her new SUV! Way to go! We cried a little, but we also felt so good. My sons have learned so much about selflessness, trust and love. Pamela has given us a wonderful gift, and we have given her a new life. We all still miss our dear Candy so much. While Pamela was not anything like her, she did in time reward us with the sloppy Lab kisses and the "tale of doom" (ouch). I hope Pamela will continue on Dogster - as a pup pal. Love and kisses Pammie, from your foster Mom, Dad, Jacob & Nick and of course Pepper and Snickers too!
