I'm almost 2 years old now and I obviously don't have much time to keep a diary . . . much too busy chasing bunnies and keeping the yard safe from all intruders. Momma says I definitely have calmed down some, now, but am still pretty spunky when I want to be. I got "blessed" at church this year and my great-grandma said that it was more of an exorcism, b/c I started calming down right away. Now they call me "good puppy" all the time!!
I like the spring weather and I love going to the puppy park to play with all of my friends. Momma likes that, too, b/c I always sleep really well afterwards. I also love to play with my people-cousins (I'm what they call their "fur-cousin") and to get cuddles from my grandma and grandpa. They take great care of me while Momma is at work all day.
I've learned how to bark VERY well, but sometimes I don't do it when I want to because Momma gets out the water mister. I don't much like that-- in fact, I consider it quite rude when she sprays me and I usually go up to my bed to sulk. Momma says I'm spoiled and I can be fairly emotional if I don't get my way-- she calls it pouting. But I know they just don't understand how hard it is to be the puppy!!

I've been having such a great day. It's almost my first birthday now and even though the books my momma reads say that I will be calming down now, I'm not showing any signs of slowing . . . nor will I, no way! It's too much fun to bounce through the neighborhood and chase birds and rabbits. Man, those rabbits are tricky!
I know that my momma's planning a birthday party for me. I heard something about steak and something about presents. I can't wait. I hope she invites some of my friends from puppy class or at least lets me take a few Scooby Snacks to share this week. Those are my favorite treats. I like the ones with the peanut butter flavoring inside.
The only bad thing is that I also heard something about a bath and getting my nails clipped. I hate it when they do that . . . I'm a good doggie about it, but I'd really rather be doing almost anything else.
Well, I'm off for now but I'll write to tell you how my birthday party goes.
woof!
