Four Years OldSeptember 12th 2010 9:51 am[ Leave A Comment ] I celebrated my 4th birthday with Frosty Paws. Mom also made a home-made version for later. Jack and I really like it! I am still a shy girl, but at home I am so silly. I like to make my mom and dad laugh by jumping in their laps on the loveseat. I also jump up on their bed. It is more fun when they don't see me coming! Sometimes I get full of energy and have to run laps in the backyard. I run so hard that when I have to make a turn, the grass goes flying - roots, dirt, and all! Afterwards, I head for one of the doggie beds to think about what to do next. Life is good.
One Year!August 5th 2010 6:15 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I have been in my home for one year now. Mom says that she loves me more than ever. Well, of course she does. Who can resist such a sweet girl! Mom and Dad keep bringing foster dogs home. I like some of them OK, but when they leave, I don't have to share my toys and beds - except with Jack. Still, it is fun having another dog to play with me for awhile.
Meet and Greet on FootJanuary 18th 2010 9:29 am[ Leave A Comment ]
Mom and Aunty Janet took me, George, and Misty Blue for a walk around Old Sacramento for a walking Meet and Greet. We even got to go shopping at Trail Mix, a really cool store with fun things for kids and dogs (trailmix.net). I saw trains, a horse-drawn carriage, people, the Sacramento River, and river boats. We also walked across the Tower Bridge to West Sacamento and back. I didn't like the noises down there and some of the sights, but Mom and Janet said that I was really good. Some people wanted to pet us, but I still don't like just anyone petting me yet. You should have seen Mom's and Janet's faces when I actually went up to one man they were talking with. I could tell he likes dogs. To my foster dad, we were not at river level here, but on levees, so no pictures of me in the water!
Our Big WalkNovember 22nd 2009 1:05 pm[ Leave A Comment | 1 person already has ] Mom spent almost all day yesterday trying to make up for not cleaning the floors for weeks. I don't know why, because we will just get them dirty again. Today she took me and Sonia for a greyt walk in Elk Grove Park. Instead of going around the lake, we walked around the entire park! I loved all the new smells and sights along the way. I hope we go back soon.
My dad needs glasses!November 13th 2009 7:21 am[ Leave A Comment ] Our foster sister Sonia is being crate trained. Though she is usually running around the house with me and Jack, she goes in the crate when Mom and Dad aren't home and at night. When dad was getting ready to pick Mom us after work yesterday, he went to crate Sonia, but grabbed me by mistake. I tried to tell him, but he just pushed me into the crate. Sonia was unually quiet for a change, so she was no help. When Mom and Dad got home and realized the mistake, they started laughing. Ha ha, big joke! I wasn't laughing. Then Dad apologized and gave me big hugs. Silly dad.
Santa PawsNovember 9th 2009 7:38 am[ Leave A Comment | 1 person already has ] On Sunday, Mom took Jack and me to the Sacramento SPCA to have our pictures taken with Santa Claus. Mom said that I was very good. I was a little nervous, but not shy. The little dogs sure did bark alot! They need to chill. Can't wait to get our pictures. I think that I looked pretty good for the camera. Jack was not so cooperative. Silly boy!
Life at HomeNovember 7th 2009 10:39 am[ Leave A Comment | 1 person already has ] I think that I am getting pretty good at this retirement thing. I am learning that people can be pretty nice, but I am not ready to trust all of them yet. I can take most everyday noises, but still don't like anything really loud. Jack is not such a bad brother. He sure is handsome! I have fun with my new foster sister Sonia. We run together in the backyard. We have made a mess of the lawn where we make our turns, but it sure feels good to cut loose once in a while. Jack tries to join in, but he is not as fast as we are. Tomorrow Mom is taking me and Jack to have a picture taken with Santa Clause, whoever that is. Mom said that we have to be really good!
Another Walk in the ParkOctober 18th 2009 7:50 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Today we took Calla for her first walk in Elk Grove Regional Park. We both really like the squirrels there. The ducks and the geese are just too noisy. Our friends George and Misty Blue came along too. George is so cute! I think I have a crush on him.
Loving My Doggie TreatsOctober 9th 2009 8:23 am[ Leave A Comment ] Mom got samples of some Trader Joe's dog treats at the Fair Oaks Dog Walk. She let us each have a chicken wrap the next day. Boy are they good! She would not let us have them in the house even though I kept trying to sneak in. She said something about all the dog drool making a mess. If we are good, maybe she will give us another one! I try to be a good girl, but Calla sometimes gets me in trouble because she likes to play with things that are not dog toys and it looks like so much fun!
It's a Dog's LifeOctober 4th 2009 11:57 am[ Leave A Comment ] Mom and Dad love greyhounds so much that they brought another one home. Calla is a foster girl waiting to find her forever home. We like to run together in the backyard. She is OK but butts in when I am trying to get attention from my people. Mom and Dad took Calla and I for a walk with five other greyhounds at a pretty park in Carmichael - Ancil Hoffman Park. We saw lots of squirrels, wild turkeys, joggers, golfers, and other funny looking dogs. Then we got to walk down to the American River. Silly Calla walked right in and layed down. I tiptoed a little at the edge. We sure had fun with our friends.
