Arrival Story:
Snickers was a Humane society rescue dog from Louisiana in 2005. He was underweight and a "parasite buffet". His eyes met mine from inside his kennel and I just was so interested in his attention. Then he opened his legs and looked down at his neuter stitches as if to say, "Lady, get me out of here before they cut something else off me!" He is still full of personality and looks at me like I am his goddess. At 6 years old we discovered he is losing his eye sight. We didn't know our Lab Candy had been acting as his seeing eye dog until she died suddenly and he was afraid. We thought he had PRA, but his sight has not gotten worse, so we wonder if the malnutrition in his first 2 years is to blame.

Bio:
He was listed as a 'hound X', by the Humane Society, our Vet thought Aussie mix, the town clerk thought Border Collie mix, an AKC judge thought Entlebucher with faults, and a tri-colored Catahoula has been suggested as well. Until I send in DNA he remains a delightful mystery. Had his DNA done in summer of 2010. He is 1/2 mutt, 1/4 Siberian Husky, 1/4 Flat Coated-Retreiver. The 1/2 mutt must be a very lazy type, Snick is almost inert....
