Arrival Story:
As a new home owner, I was looking for a dog of my own. In an effort to give shelter dogs a second chance, I looked on petfinder.com until I found a dog that I was interested in. Through petfinder.com I found a Basset Rescue, and filled out an adoption contract, and had an home inspection. When Obi was first available, we were out of town and almost missed out on the chance to adopt him. A few weeks later I got an email asking if I was still interested in him. Of course I was, so when I returned to my home the adoption process was started. Prior to adopting Obi, he had already been in a home where he was tied to a tree 24/7. He was then rescued and as story has it set a house on fire. After that he was sent to a foster home, who decided not to keep him, and that is how he ended up with us. Obi is just a little sweetheart!

Bio:
Obi has had several different names prior to being called Obi. As a young dog, who has never had a stable home, we decided to give him a new name. We decided to let Obi pick out his name. We called several names out to him, and finally my boyfriend decided to call him Darth Vader. I said I'm not calling our dog Darth Vader, Chewbacca, or Obi Wan Kanobe. At that time he reacted to Obi. I said it again, and again he reacted, so we decided to call him Obi.
