Arrival Story:
I got Toby from our animal control. He is so skinny! His hair is very thin and I believe it fell out because of what happened to him. Someone called animal control to come out because a family in the neighborhood had moved out and left their dog. They did not realize they had left their dog. He was in the fenced in yard with no food or water for who knows how long. He was in bad shape when he was picked up. It had been in the low 100's and we had no rain for 25 days straight. My vet said he had the hair loss because of the lack of nutrition. That he lived without water is just a miracle. Maybe he licked dew off the grass in the early mornings. I don't know how the people discovered he was there but it happened just in time to save his life. He stayed at the shelter for 22 days before he was in good enough shape to be put up for adoption! Poor little guy. I can imagine him watching the sun come up and go down and sitting at the door crying for help from a family who had driven away without regard for him.

Bio:
Toby's 16 pounds but should be about 18 or 20 lbs. His bones are showing in his back and his ribs show too. His hair is very thin. I can see his skin when I look at his little body. His back end and his back legs are almost naked. He has a strip of hair missing on his back. Maybe it was fleas that caused the loss. Maybe lack of food and water, maybe the unbearable heat, maybe the terrible stress and fear. probably a combination of all. He eats like he will never get another meal and drinks a lot too. I know it will takle a long time for him to feel safe. We will do everything we can to make him feel secure and to let him know he will not have to go hungry ever again.

I am SO happy!

I finished my heart worm treatment and when I was all done I went to my new forever home. I love my mom and dad and I have to very mostest coll brudder. He is so fun. Sometimes we get a little tiffy with each other but we really do love each other. Monty is my bestest friend and I am so happy to have such a wonderful home. Thanks foster mom & dad. I hope all my foster friends there at their house get homes as awesome as mine is.

It's almost time for me to leave foster care. I have only this week left to finish my heart worm treatment. I'm feeling good. I am almost finished my Rx and then I am off to my furever home with my new brudder Monty. I will have a big back yard with only me and Monty in it. Oh That is going to be fun. I have to share with so many here. Now, I appreciate my foster mon & dad but I just want my own home. They have been real good to me. My mom took me from the pound and she and dad took good care of me. I love them but they told me from day one that they were only helping me and this is not my special place. My real mom calls and emails all the time. She and my real dad love me already. I just hope me and Monty are ok together. Monty has a wonderful life and maybe he won't want to share all of it with me or any other dog. I could sure understand if he doesn't want me there. I guess we will just have to see how it goes. Mom and dad say I can come back here if it doesn't work out. I'll be safe no matter what. Ahhhh just a few more days.

My foster parents took me to visit anothe BT. His name is Monty. We look alike and we had fun together. My mommy said Monty is going to be my brother. Brother! She said that his parents want to adopt me and take care of me furever. I like them very much and Monty is real nice. WOW! My life is changing so fast and in such good ways. I am so lucky. Mommy says God saved me from the situation because he has good things for my life. I just don't know how to thank him for all the things that have happened to me since I was found in that back yard.
